Fitbit App starts to load then stops on my Motorola Android phone

About a month or so ago, the app kept opening on its own every 10 minutes or so, blocking anything else I had open to not that a syncing error had occurred. Could not sync I think it was. I finally had to uninstall it. When I reinstalled, I cannot get it to load. The screen has the Fit bit name and logo as if its trying to load, then just disappears. I have forced stopped and reopened, stopped WiFi, reset all settings, etc.I have read all of the related topics and tried everything that was suggested to no avail. Thank you.

It is the Motorola E5 Supra. It has worked on the same phone for a year with no issues.

Your phone is not on the Approved Devices list so may work for some functions and not others.

Thais odd that the app wont work with a phone running the newest version of Android. It worked since I bought it then all of a sudden wont even load. Some functions not others at this point is nothing at all since the app wont even open. Thank you for the info. Not sure how to fix this other than a new phone or a new device.

Does anyone from Fitbit monitor this? I cannot load the app on my Android device for the past few weeks but have been able to for a year, What would cause that? As of now, my watch is useless

Same problem here a few weeks ago the app stopped loading. It will open up on the screen but the information is missing and it just trying to refresh forever. Eventually a message "unable to communicate with Fitbit server" or similar shows for a second... Reinstalling the app enables me to load the info and sync the data on the first attempt, then the second time I try to start it it fails again.... Clearing the cash and the data on the device does not help either.

I have a moto Z3, downloaded the fitbit app today.

I have used the app before on this same phone with no trouble, until now.

I uninstalled the app because my previous fitbit died, and wasn't using the app for a few weeks.

I know the app worked on this phone, so why this?

Things I've tried:

  • Uninstalled and re-installed the app several times.
  • Turned off bluetooth, turned it back on.
  • Restarted phone several times.
  • Shutdown phone and restarted it a couple of times.

Also, I cannot put the Widget on the screen.

Short of resetting my phone, anyone have a fix?

I have found where the problem was with me ( OnePlus 7pro 4g) so I though I share as it is a good chance it is same with you guys. It is very basic setting I have not checked as it is hidden in the menu of the later Android versions. If you long press the icon of the app and go to app info, or your phone settings>apps>fitbit. From there go click on mobile data & wifi and there the wifi disabled should be off and also unrestricted data usage should be off.

For some strange reason these two options were on on my app I guess either something to do with the latest security patch by Google it Fitbit changed something on the last update. This should be very easy for Fitbit support to troubleshoot, only if they cared. It is much easy for the to state your handset is not on the compatible device list and then mark the issue as answered!
