Fitbit Incorrectly Counting Steps

I have noticed that my Fitbit Versa is counting steps when im driving or every time i move my hand, this is giving an incorrect count of my daily steps which leads me to think that the calorie count is also incorrect.

 

The reason for buy the device was to monitor my claories burned and steps taken and if this is incorrect what use is the device?

I know its counting to many steps about twice as many as my pedometer on my iphone.
