Fitbit Mobile App only has Gmail option for notifications-Versa

Hi all, while trying to help a member how to get email notifications from a well known email program on his Versa, I stumbled on a strange issue. There is difference in the Fitbit app installed on a mobile device or installed on a tablet, in my case the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. When installing it on my Samsung, I got the message that it was not developed for a tablet. Now here's the issue: when you go on your mobile device to notifications and press email, the only option you have is Gmail. When I go on my tablet to the same, it gives me the choice between Gmail and notifications from the well known email program. How is that possible?

@SunsetRunner which email clients are we talking about? I know outlook, inbox, bluemail etc all work with Email notifications. Make sure the clients is installed and properly configured on your friends phone. Also, if everything else fails you can set notifications under App Notifications instead of Email.

The reason why I not mentioned outlook as the email program, was the fact that when I tried to post it with the name of it in my post, I got the message that outlook was not accepted due to community rules. Tried is several times but I could not post it. Very strange IMHO that you can use the name without a problem. I cannot imagine that typing outlook with a capital O leads to refusing to post the message.

@SunsetRunner well, it seems like your last post went through whether it was because of lower case or not. You can inquire about that further. Moderators would be the right person to ask this question.

On the past we have had several flooding of Spam, apparently Outlook in the title was a key word at one time.

Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 on the compatability list?

Have you tried setting up Outlook under the extended app notifications? You should see a list of every app installed on the tablet.

Hi, thanks for you reply. I stumbled on this problem whilst trying to help someone with the Outlook problem. Personally I have email notifications disabled cause I'm home a lot and thus within the neighbourhood of my laptop. The Galaxy Tab S and Tab 3 are supported by Fitbit according to this site: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2315/?q=compatible&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1
