Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

No support for 02 in this firmware. At least not in an api devs can access.

I don't get it... I posted a recommendation for a download area for patches and offended someone enough to have it removed. So worried about a smart recommendation and not servicing this watch.

@SunsetRunner Is this new firmware FINALLY supporting O2 measurement ?? It was advertised it would be comming but still nothing !! No it's not. But, according to the Charge 3 forums it will go in beta-testing this month. If you see a red light on the underside of your watch, it is the SpO2 sensor, collecting data for analysis by fitbit. You don't get to see this data, but they do. See also : https://www.fitbit.com/labs

That data won't be available via a public API anytime soon, that's for sure. For the rest, see comment above.

Since the update, no of my apps sync to my band. No text messages. No weather. No email notifications. Everything is set in the app. But I get a text message once a week. Also now this. My band shows nothing. The app shows 4K steps

@GeenEyedChick Can you see the stats in the Today app when you swipe up on the main Versa screen? It seems to me it is clockface fault which needs to be updated to work with a new firmware properly. Try installing an original Fitbit clockface. To resolve syncing/notification issue, try rebooting versa several times. If this doesn't help unpair Versa from your phone Bluetooth settings.

My personal experience there are QC issues that have yet to be resolved.
This is an Update to Post 104 where my Versa was bricked after installing updated firmware then a replacement unit was sent out only this Versa had a Battery Issue and required charging twice a day. Watch Function down to only tracking steps and syncing manually with all notifications and HR turned off as per support instructions as well as charging via computer USB port and ( updated firmware again) Support was helpful however unable to solve the issue and are in the process of sending another replacement Versa (This will be number 3)
Purchased Apple watch 4 only to return it the same day, too complicated, liked the Versa better, however, I have lost confidence in the Versa Model given my experience and Purchased a Charge 3.
Upgraded to Versa model from a Fitbit Charge HR2 model that refused to accept a charge after 14 monthsFully Charged USB port computer time 20:30
Confirmation via app Fully Charged 20:33
After 5 hours 45 minutes sync indicating Battery Medium
After 12 hours 30 min sync indicating battery low
Battery Empty after 13 hours and 25 minutes. Notifications turned OFF Manual syncing and HR turned OFF.

@SunsetRunner, @Unicornpff If you insist on forcing an installation of 32.12.19 you can do so by a factory reset, and removing your Versa from the app, then start from scratch. Note that music, wallet, custom apps all have to reinstalled. Note that some custom apps/clockfaces will not work anymore as they first have to be recompiled for SDK2.0 (ouch, so much for backward compatibility). Note that once 32.12.19 is installed, you cannot go back to .15 anymore!!!

Have you guys tried resetting you versa? I have two fitbit versa's and after reset when I am asked to upgrade the firmware like a fresh install it upgrades to to 32.12.19.

I forced the update and wish I hadn't done it. Battery life has gone from great to bad. My versa has worked good from day one and now is glitchy. Heart rate monitor has gone nuts! When its charging the screen is all distorted! These are just a few of the bugs.....

Jaizzert I agree, it sounds similar to my experience documented here Post 104 and here Post 309 . Now waiting for replacement Versa replacement under warranty number 3
Contact customer service as you may be eligible also for a replacement.
Purchased a Fitbit Charge 3 as l have lost faith in the Versa model.

You were 'warned', that's probably also the reason that only 10% or so has it...
Some ppl seem to live ok with it though. It's unfortunate that you can't roll back, or manually force the install a previous version (as one can do with many mobile apps, for example).

Yea I know I was "warned" but its because Fitbit take so long to release updates that people go ahead and force update! Fitbit need to get their act together and stop using our watches as beta testers! I will never buy another Fitbit,as their attitude to their customers is appalling
