Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

I notice that the subject of this post is for a Versa Firmware update, but the contents of the post reference an Ionic. Which device does the update apply to?
I just purchased a versa on Black Friday and already uninstalled the app from my Samsung S9 due to excessive battery drain. I'm looking for a fix ASAP, otherwise I will be returning the Versa and going with a Samsung Smart Watch instead.

Do a sync before the update, and your app will keep all your info. It even kept a list of the apps I had on my watch; I just had to re-install them. Make sure to remember the name of the watch face you are using. Other than that, I can't think of anything I "lost" by doing the factory reset.

Hello @catpark69, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @SunsetRunner and @spikeyversa, I hope you're doing well.
@SunsetRunner, I understand you would not like to perform a factory reset to update the Firmware on your Versa, please note that as mentioned by @AlessFitbit, we’re working on making the update more widely available. Thanks for your understanding.
@catpark69, please note that the firmware update is available for both, Ionic and Versa as they share the same Fitbit OS, so you will be able to update your Versa in case you haven't yet to Fitbit OS 2.2 (32.12.19). As mentioned by @spikeyversa, please make sure you sync before updating the watch.
I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

One of the most disappointing updates I've ever seen. 😞

Hello,
I’ve just completed the update of my Versa through the iPad Fitbit app with success.
Everything seems to work properly.
Cheers!

Just updated to the latest firmware without an issue however after the update all my sleep logs have been deleted and showing up all blank and 0 sleep, also had to re setup my sleep goals and schedule including bedtime reminders all over again which is extremely annoying. Anybody else had this issue or just me? Very disappointed and hope this fixes itself as I rely on sleep information on a daily basis.

@PeterPFM can you see them on Dashboard on Fitbit.com. This might be related to temporary data loss that some users have been reporting today.

@SunsetRunner Fitbit is investigating a temporary data loss that some users have reported. Sync has been disabled to prevent further data loss I am assuming. See here.

Thanks for your reply I think it was that issue as everything has come up again and showing correct information and sleep stages when I’ve logged back into my app.

I'm glad it's not just me. I've been trying all night. So much for the Fitbit helping to have a healthier life...when I don't get any sleep 🤦:female_sign:

@Marrrmaduke It seems as though fitbit have pushed a newer release out to some users, as your link says 32.12.24 is the newest build but the title to this thread still states 32.12.19. I did a factory reset on my Ionic yesterday and was given 32.12.19.

Sure it is. Fitbit app told me to update the Versa and it became 32.32.12.24.
