Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

So how do we get this 'latest' version? Surely not to forget the watch and do a factory reset and setup again?

well that tells us 5/8s of nothing.
is there a comprehensive list of what its fixed and added...ie does the O2 meter work yet?

so is 32.12.24 still only being released to a small 10% subset of customers??
It is just 4 days short of a month since 32.12.19 was released and I didn't get that update either.....

what a disppointment with the versa. first one burnt up replacement won't siync. A lot of money for a pedometer. Atleast I know what to look for now. A trusted brand compatibility and a support staff. I failed to mention the support team hung up on me. So wearing a smartwatch today that was 2 hours ahead all day and only accomplished tracking my steps it did a fair job. BTW I think the secret is that it works great with apple. All 4 family members have one and it actually works great for them. Plan on selling mine to an apple user and getting a samsung or garmon.

The Fitbit firmware release policy is some kind of dark mistery.
For example I never received the .19 version, but I got .24

It would be a good idea to have a future update that will have a keyboard to easily respond to text messages when people aren't able to use their phones to respond. The quick text messages are fine but the options are very few

Now 32.12.19 or 32.12.24? It would be nice if the moderators clarified this. When, which one? If I do a factory reset, which one will install? What's the difference between them? Please moderators to answer these questions. Thanks.

Hey everyone! I know with this new version number: 32.12.24, there are some questions. Please let me clarify.
@spikeyversa @Buzzsaw This release is part of an effort to test a new firmware update process. For more information about this release, see the Fitbit OS 2.2 section in our help article.
@Roger41 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for stopping by the Versa board. To read more about what's included in the Fitbit OS 2.2 update, please check out this article: What's changed in the latest Fitbit OS update. The SpO2 sensor has not been activated yet.
@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Versa so far. Compatibility with Android devices can be trickier, but that shouldn't stop you from syncing. If syncing is your problem, please check out this article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? Usually, you should refresh the Bluetooth connection as that is the biggest factor and make sure you have fully charged up the watch. If you're still having trouble, I can create a case and connect you with our Customer Support team, just let me know.
@Gusthy Hey, there! I understand our rollout strategy for Fitbit OS 2.2 has been confusing and I'm sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. Just know, this new firmware version#: 32.12.24 is part of our effort to make Fitbit OS 2.2 more widely available. It includes the same features as what's listed here: What's changed in the latest Fitbit OS update?
@RisingPhoenix2 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I'm happy to hear your ideas around what features should be added to Versa. I agree it would be great to have more options for sending quick replies. Let me direct you to our space specifically for posting Feature Suggestions. There you can post the idea you just mentioned and others can vote. If you find an existing suggestion that matches yours please add your vote instead.
@Laszlo52 Hello! This new firmware version#: 32.12.24 is part of our effort to make Fitbit OS 2.2 more widely available. The features of this version # are the same as listed in “What's changed in the latest Fitbit OS update?” If you decide to factory reset, the version # will be either of those two because they are both Fitbit OS 2.2.
@pjnelson Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community! Our team was aware of an issue where some users had seen data (steps, sleep, and logged activities) missing on their accounts. This issue has since been resolved. For more info, check out this thread.

@AlessFitbit Question for those of us who already upgraded to 32.12.19 - will we be prompted to upgrade again to 32.12.24, or are we done until the next release?

@AlessFitbitCan you tell us what the difference is between 32.12.19 and 32.12.24? I went to the page that you linked and its not clear to me what has been updated/fixed. That list seems like the same thing I saw for 32.12.19. I had to do a factory reset to force 32.12.19 and I don't want to do that again if 12.24 is not a material update.
I've had Bluetooth/push notification issues with my Versa since day one and I was hoping these updates would finally fix the issue. After updating to 32.12.19 I was optimistic as the issue was gone....but that only lasted four days. Now I'm back to the daily cycle (sometimes multiple times a day)of having to disconnect/reconnect, unpair/pair, force shut down the versa, etc just to get my notifications and phone calls to push to the Versa. Extremely frustrating to have a smart watch that can't handle a very basic feature correctly.
Thx

@AlessFitbitFirmware version#:32.12.19 of my Versa. It's worth switching from 32.12.19 to 32.12.24? Did not answer me the difference between the two. She said he was the same. Then why was the point of changing the version number? There must be a difference between the two, not just the version number. If there is only difference in the version then what's the point? This is just causing confusion. I still do not understand.

Perhaps these thoughts will help some people who are wondering whether to update the firmware, perhaps not 🙂
I prefer to be guided by the manufacturer's recommendation - in this case, Fitbit.
If you're the sort of person who always makes sure they have the latest firmware on their desktop, laptop, phone etc, then update to the latest version of the Versa firmware to be consistent.
Most people, including those who are religious about updating their operating system and software/apps, don't bother to update their system's firmware unless it's done automatically. (PC's can happily chug along on firmware that's years out of date. It's only when a security vulnerability is found that a lot of people update it and even then heaps of people don't bother.)
For me, I like to wait a few days to make sure there are no problems reported with the latest version. Even then, I'll often only update firmware if there's a particular recommendation from the manufacturer or if I've been having a particular problem that is likely to have been rectified in the latest firmware.
I updated the Versa firmware a little while ago to 32.32.12.19. Maybe I'll do another factory reset and update at some stage to get the 24 version. (I'm very happy with the apparent improvements with .19 version and haven't come across any new problems, so I'm not in any rush to do another firmware update.)

I did the update and now it does everything but sends message notifications from my iPhone Xr.
Do you have a solution on how to fix it?
