Fitbit Update 1/10/19:

Hi all!

Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!

Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.

If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.

Thanks again and happy stepping! Smiley Happy

Fitbit Update 12/26:

Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.

In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.

We look forward to getting you all back on track!

Fitbit Update 12/22:

We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.

We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Hi, everyone!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)

We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT'S CHANGED?

Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.

If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart the watch.
  2. "Remove" the watch from your account inside of the Fitbit app.
  3. "Forget" the watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings (along with any other Fitbit devices paired to your phone)
  4. Try the update again.

*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:

1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)

2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

@tmedcoff Have you tried rebooting your tracker by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo flashes?

My Versa updated successfully to OS 3.0 this morning.  When I started the Fitbit App on my phone (iOS 12) there was a message saying a Tracker Update was Available.  I was home (Wi-Fi connection) so I started the process.  Saw a progress bar on the phone screen and the Fitbit logo and progress bar on the Versa.  When I came back, about 10 minutes later, it was finished.  I noticed that the App icons were back to their original spots (I'd moved Exercise to initialize from the bottom-right button off the opening display) and that the Relaxation App was gone.  The Today screens have been extensively expanded to include readouts for all the active stats.  The Music Controls display seems to indicate that I can play music through my phone now.  I'll have to tinker for a while to see what's what, but I wanted to let folks know that, in my experience, it is possible to get an upgrade installed without tears and hassle.

Updated my Versa at home today.  Took about 10 minutes.  Everything working great!  Loving the new Today view!

Un-paired from phone, restarted phone and versa, re-paired..still no today app.  extremely irritated

Regarding my earlier post, I went to the Fitbit App on the phone and looked at Apps.  I noticed that Relax and several other apps required an update.  After updating, those icons were restored on the Versa.

Hi,

I've also had the problem with swiping up. Cannot see my Today app at all. I have restarted the device as well.

@gayathrism I'm happy to hear you were able to resolve the issue by switching on Bluetooth in the watch settings. Thanks for updating the thread!

@tmedcoff @Ultimate0power @LauraF Hey! I'm sorry you're all having trouble accessing the Today app after installing this new update. Please check that you're all on the latest version of the Fitbit app. Visit the app store for your mobile device and make sure you have the latest version downloaded. Read more about the latest versions here: What's changed in the latest release of the Fitbit app?

In addition, after you're up to date, make sure you sync the watch a few times. Let me know how it goes.

@wiseman13 If you'd like to read more about this update, we have lots of information included in the Press Release. For an updated list of banks available for Fitbit Pay, you can check out this link: Fitbit Pay banks. This list is regularly updated as we partner with more banks around the world.

@AlessFitbit  I read about it first in several press articles today, and the update made my day 🙂  I am loving this. Installation was flawless and went relatively fast. Switched to Achu clockface with health AI monitoring, all for science. New APIs. Great stuff.   [A little note: in your top post you refer to "watch" which some people may mistake for clockface. Since this is the Versa thread, I would edit it to Versa]

@SunsetRunner- also available in Europe.

@tmedcoff  I also seem to have 'lost' the today 'app' (by swiping up), it may have to do with the clockface? Your mobile app for sure has nothing to do with it! Rebooting your phone even less. If you are really desperate you can momentarily switch to a default fitbit clockface, see if it comes back. I don't care about the 'today' app (unless it is significantly improved, but the sleeppattern may be useful)

@lenny4d be a good guinea pig and change clockface to see if today app is back. 😋 I am so excited for this release, you have no idea! Still waiting...

@tmedcoff Thanks for all your troubleshooting efforts! I still have some suggestions for you to try. Please if you could also give this a shot, I think this will help.

If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:

1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app. Then try steps 2 or 3.

2. After that, manually go into the app to press "update" on Today.

OR

3. Connect to Wifi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

If the issue persists, let me know!

Was surprised to have the update right away! Updated in about 10 minutes or less with no issues at all. For reference I am on Android 9.1 Essential phone.

The new Today app is great. Also love the auto wake when a notification comes in. Looking forward to what the devs can do with the new API!

I had all my data synced, but after I did the update all of my data for the day aside from number of steps was wiped. It says I had 13k steps and burned only 1100 cal today (by 8pm).

Actually sorta mad about this because i had the best run this morning 😭.
