Fitbit Update 1/10/19:

Hi all!

Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!

Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.

If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.

Thanks again and happy stepping! Smiley Happy

Fitbit Update 12/26:

Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.

In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.

We look forward to getting you all back on track!

Fitbit Update 12/22:

We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.

We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Hi, everyone!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)

We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT'S CHANGED?

Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.

If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart the watch.
  2. "Remove" the watch from your account inside of the Fitbit app.
  3. "Forget" the watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings (along with any other Fitbit devices paired to your phone)
  4. Try the update again.

*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:

1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)

2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

I updated my phone app and made sure the Today app within the Fitbit app was updated (it did not work the first time), and everything is working normally.

Thanks for all the advice.

I just got the update this morning and started playing around.

Actually, there is an option to enter your food intake. But it's not enabled by default. You have to enable it in the Settings from Today screen.

Thanks to all that replied to my issue. I tried the factory reset on my versa and reinstalled it on my app. Once I did all of that, I was able to successfully install the new software.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately it didn’t work. I did a factory reset and it did the job! Love the changes!

I really wish it would have warned me before I started the update over bluetooth that it could take a long time.

I wasn't able to connect to WiFi for some reason - so I just selected Bluetooth and started. It's now been almost 2 hours and it's not even 1/4 of the way done.

I'm on a Pixel 3.

At this pace, it is going to take 8+ hours to update.

This sucks.

After install of 3.0 this morning the "today" view only showed 3 possible stats. Also I could not change my watch face color back to my desired color nor could I install any other watch face.

So I did the suggested place the watch on charger with my phone on WIFI. When I checked about 10 min later all was well. The today view had a choice of 7 stats and I regained control of the watch face.

Fitbit Update 12/20:

Hey Versa Fam!

Fitbit OS 3.0 has now been pushed out to 50% of users.

If you are experiencing any issues updating your Versa, please review this help article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating or can't see the new logging options, please try the following:

  1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Ionic into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

Also, our fellow community member @AbhishekS has kindly created a very detailed post about this issue and how to resolve it. Please check it out!

I'm happy to see that many of you are successfully updating and are enjoying this new firmware! Smiley Happy

Seriously, this feels like a torture to sit and read about all these great new features and how is everybody enjoying them, while you still haven't got the update, especially when 50% of the users got it. There should be an option to opt in a beta, for users who actually care, I'm sure there are plenty of people, from those 50% that don't really care about it.

Just want to share the success of my update. Only 25 minutes, and WOWZA! I looove the New OS!

Friends, I kept my watch on its charger while I updated, and it was at 100% when I started, and 99% when fully updated. I let it charge to 100% again (around 4 minutes), and I’m off and running!

Thank you, THANK YOU, FitBit!

Fitbit Versa completely lost after release of new firmware. Couldnt sync. Tried to disassociate the product.  Now I cant even add the watch to my account again.

I'm so fed up with the unfinished product. I want to give this back please.

If FitBit wants you as a beta tester they send you an email. Check your emails you might have been selected, I was. 🙂

I opted to not be a beta tester, but that’s just me.

What does this mean I should get the update soon? How do I know if I am among the 50%?
