Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Fitbit today no longer works. I can swipe down and right without issue. When I swipe up nothing happens. I am still receiving notifications, am able to sync, and update watch faces just fine. I have tried restarting my versa and my phone, installing new watch faces and still nothing does the trick. Please release an update to this firmware so I have a reason to keep this fitbit. I just bought it and I will have to return it if this is not fixed quickly.

None of these suggestions worked for me. Still no 'today,' after multiple attempts of each thing suggested.

If you read the post by @AlessFitbit, there is no way to trigger the update, it's just randomly rolled out to you.
PS I don't have it either on my Versa or Ionic.

Hi AlessFitbit!
I am a German user and still on 32.10.15.
Waiting since October on the notification to update on 32.10.19.
By when is the update available in Germany and will it proceed on the basis of 32.10.15?
Cheers.

Which country do you live in? And after factory reset you were given the option of updating to OS 3.0?
Thanks

I updated my versa yesterday and immediately after the battery started draining like crazy! It was at 70% when I completed the upgrade and 3 hours later it was at 16%! I have restarted the device twice and also deleted from my Fitbit account and unpaired twice. It was at 65% when I went to bed last night and is completely dead this morning - so my alarm didn't go off. Before the update the watch would last for 3 to 4 days. Is there a way to remove the upgrade? This watch is useless to me at this point this is insane.

How come that my Versa is still on v32.32.10.15 firmware? Charging, restarting, connecting to WiFi didn't make any difference.
Can you please provide instructions that will guarantee a possibility to update to the latest firmware available (at least v32.32.12.24)?
Thanks.

I received the update yesterday for my Versa, now I am unable to swipe up for the today feature. I have tried turning my watch off for a soft reset, changing my watch face, and I am concerned about doing a hard reboot. Will the hard reboot loose my data from when I first started using it 4 months ago?
i really liked the swipe up feature for a quick view of today, all other directional swipes work fine.

I am just noticed the same thing, I am like 3 updates behind but it doesn't give me the option to update in the app...

The app was out of date. I updated that. Refreshing from the app did not work though. I did it multiple times with no luck.
However, forcing a wifi connection did work. The app was showing my home wifi as unavailable so I had to forget it and reenter the wifi info. Once that happened and it confirmed connection the today app on my versa updated. I had to go to settings and back out on the versa twice before the new options appeared. Happy it is working and I can now see the today app!! I do love this watch, have had it for less than a month yet.

i still have an old firmware, this is unacceptable from FITBIT, why would only America get updates while we pay higher prices yet we are left out the update cycles..

@Marrrmaduke Thank you, after forgetting and reentering my wifi info, it finally connected and updated the today app. I had to back out of fitbit today a couple times on my versa in order for some of the new features to show up. It is working now!

I've just updated my Versa now after I got the update notice in the Fitbit app on my phone. It seems to be quite fast, taking just over 12 minutes over wifi.
I didn't need to update any apps. The nice thing is I didn't even need to re-upload music. Everything is still there, including the credit cards in the wallet, music, bluetooth headphones etc. The Versa synced with the phone after the update without any difficulty. I didn't need to close the app or anything like that.
The weather app still isn't working (via Windows phone) which is a shame but not a major issue for me. Also, I haven't yet figured how to add the "up to 7 stats", I'll look into that later on. (I'm happy enough with the three that are showing for now, and it's getting late here.)
@HomersGone - it's not just being rolled out to the USA. I'm way down in south-eastern Australia.
