Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Hiya:
I did the update just like you and my watch face was blurred; - think Fitbit blue icon but fuzzy. It's been such a headache with this upgrade. Have you tried going in your Fitbit app, go to device- versa click there. Then go to clocksa; all clocks, then search for your old clock face and re-install?? You shouldn't have to pay for it again

Thanks, @kirstipaul! I couldn't find the one I originally purchased on the list ... but I did find a free one I actually think I like better, so I downloaded that and am happy now.
Cheers and Happy New Year!

I have lost weather on the watch face as well and haven't found any that work (although weather apps work). I suspect that the new firmware changed how the watch connects to weather data sources (yahoo, weather underground, etc) but, based on discussions in the SDK forum, there seems to have been no notification to the development community.

I'm having terrible battery drain! My Versa dies after an hour! I've tried a factory reset and it's now worse!
The last firmware was fine. I regret updating as this update took ages and killed my Fitbit 😞

So so glad the update failed on me... After All I'm reading, I wouldn't touch the update with a ten foot pole....

yup, wish I'd read all the horror stories before updating. The update has completely thrown the distance of my walks/runs/hikes out of wack

Since the update my versa was intermittantly syncing now it won't sync at all. I tried all the off and on on bluetooth, versa, app, even factory reset and it won't let me reset up the versa as its not connecting. Any suggestions please?

Thanks for the tip about doing a complete reset to roll back the update. If they don't put out an update soon to fix the mess the last update made, I will try your solution. Right now my Versa is totally random in what it shows on the watch but at least it is mostly syncing even info that doesn't show on the watch...like sleep and sometimes exercise (treadmill). Really wish my Blaze did not have a cracked watch face as it was much more reliable.

After updating to Fitbit OS 3.0, my versa battery started to drain so fast that it lost only for a day, i have contacted support and offered me a replacement. Did any one face this issue on their versa?

@SunsetRunner "doing a complete reset to roll back the update" -- I could not find out to who's post you are referring to, but you cannot roll-back from a firmware update that has completed. It is not possible in the way things are at present...
"Right now my Versa is totally random in what it shows on the watch but at least it is mostly syncing even info that doesn't show on the watch...like sleep and sometimes exercise (treadmill)." --- What exactly do you mean? I can't find any other post from you that explains this in a bit more "cleartext". It sort of seems you are referring to the "Today" app (which you get by swiping up from your clockface)? Is that correct?, and is that all?, or is there more to "random in what it shows on the watch"? And what specifically do you mean by "info that doesn't show on the watch"?

@lenny4d, I was referring to the reset that @digital48 referred to which was a rollback of the updates but rather of the data. I wish we could roll back this last update but I know that is not possible. Yes, I was referring to the Today app (screen). I previously was able to see my sleep and my weight on the watch (even after the update but now I can only see my core stats and there is no option for adding the other stats in under the settings (at the bottom of the Today screen). .The sleep stat on the watch was often showing less sleep than the dashboard would show after syncing then it disappeared entirely. A walk of 25 minutes showed then disappeared. I turned off notifications and never tried to the music function. Notifications were erratic...Whatsapp one showed up two days after it was sent. Texts never showed. I had the same issue with my Blaze as far as notifications. I am thinking about returning the Versa but am willing to wait a bit longer. I tried to get find the Versa on Amazon this past weekend but could not. I wanted to comment on the Versa since I purchased it through Amazon. Sorry for the unclear post. Hope this clears it up.

@SunsetRunner"I was referring to the reset that @digital48 referred to which was a rollback of the updates but rather of the data." -- that's not what I read, but we can ignore it as it doesn't matter anyway. "I previously was able to see my sleep and my weight on the watch (even after the update but now I can only see my core stats and there is no option for adding the other stats in under the settings" -- ok, so the additional stats have disappeared even though they were visible. Interesting. IMHO the Today app is at best a gimmick and for the rest sucks. But some ppl find it useful. To get back the other stats you probably have to put it in the charger for a while. It will then update over wifi. There may an update button in the my apps panel in the mobile fitbit app. "The sleep stat on the watch was often showing less sleep than the dashboard would show after syncing then it disappeared entirely. " --- Yes, this is the most stupid thing. The sleep data is not generated by tracker itself, but by fitbit.com and then sync'd back to the mobile app and from there to the tracker. So data on the mobile app and Versa can be out of sync, or it is not showing on one but it is on the other. It's a mess. And seriously, when it has to sync in the first place, one is way better off to get the full sleep pattern with sleep stages (that the today app doesn't show, it only has overview stats) on ones mobile. "and never tried to the music function" -- people that use it (including myself) seem to be happy with it. I am very happy with the music functions! But brace for getting it going, many people seem to struggle. I am rather happy with my Versa, although I see potential for a lot of improvements too.

So after this update my Versa will not charge properly, I keep getting a message no matter what outlet, there is not enough power to charge this versa. I even tried at work and the same message.

Have you tried changing the brick you’re plugging your versa charger into? Cleaned watch sensors on back of watch?
01-07-2019 19:14
01-07-2019 19:14
Yes I have tried different bricks, I will try recleaning the sensors, but it was working fine before the update after that it has not kept a charge.

Mine charged but died in 4 hours but I haven’t noticed any posts mentioning your error message.
