Fitbit Update 1/10/19:

Hi all!

Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!

Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.

If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.

Thanks again and happy stepping! Smiley Happy

Fitbit Update 12/26:

Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.

In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.

We look forward to getting you all back on track!

Fitbit Update 12/22:

We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.

We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Hi, everyone!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)

We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT'S CHANGED?

Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.

If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart the watch.
  2. "Remove" the watch from your account inside of the Fitbit app.
  3. "Forget" the watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings (along with any other Fitbit devices paired to your phone)
  4. Try the update again.

*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:

1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)

2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Sounds like I'm just wait for the update to be pushed. I have no intentions of doing a factory reset. My location settings are correct cause I need to change it to be a beta tester for the sleep score program

How do you become a beta tester for that?

@SunsetRunner - If you open "Today" and scroll to the "Settings" at the bottom of the screen. The options for the 7 stats are in there.

Enjoy

Did update yesterday now my Fitbit will not allow a swipe up.  I can no longer swipe up.  I did disconnect from bluetooth then reconnected still no swiping up.

@Mav1975, that's what I expected. However, when I click on Settings, there are only three options: core stats, hourly steps and heart rate. Do you know what the missing options are?

Hi Aless, thanks for letting us know, looking forward to getting the update. Would it also be possible to notify the community when the update has been pushed out to 100% of users? That way people will know if they have a problem and missed the update? It would also be great to know a guess or estimate of what rate it will be pushed out at? For example if the goal is with no showstopper bugs that next 20% will be pushed today or in two weeks. I'm still on 32.10.15 and assumed I'd get 32.12.19 at some stage when it rolled out fully but now 32.33.1.30 is out so I dont know if there is a problem with my Versa or a problem with the update and I'll get 32.33.1.30 eventually. I'd really like to know at what stage I should worry.

Thanks,

Declan

@SunsetRunner When I first downloaded the update and went digging around for new things I remember that screen being similar to how you described until it had done a full sync (after the update). Check that is completed and then you should be able to see additional check boxes for

Exercise

Sleep

Water

Food

Weight, and

Badges

Good luck.

A workaround was posted here. It should help.

Thanks @Mav1975. I've synced a few times since updating the firmware, but there are still only the three options, preceded by the words: "Select up to 7 stats to easily track with Fitbit Today".

I've checked and there is no more recent Fitbit app than the one already installed on my phone (last updated 12 Dec).

Maybe they'll show up some time when I least expect it 🙂

Update (for @Mav1975 ). I decided to try something different and turned off bluetooth on my phone and connected to the app on my laptop. That's done the trick. Now I've got all seven options available on the Versa.

I don't know why it didn't work using the phone's app. It's the same version no. as on the laptop. Never mind, all good now. (I'll set the Versa back to sync with the phone again, which is more useful than the laptop.)

Is this the reason why my versa keeps shutting off ?

I'm not trying to be negative, but I might be done with Fitbit.  Thanks for version 3.0, but the updates didn't address the glaring issues with the OS.  For example, the font is just too **ahem** small.  Why isn't the notification size adjustable?  The wearable market isn't just for millennials.  I'm 48 and assuming that I can read an 8 point font on my watch is a joke.  I never expected my Versa to match WearOS and Apple's OS, but the lack of these basic modifications is a joke.  I've seen posts online from your moderators dating back 2 years promising this feature but nothing changes.  The lack of support is so bad that I won't recommend your watches for people over 45.  I guess your company is okay losing that market.

I agree with this sentiment. Presbyopia is a real thing for many (if not most) people over 45, and the font size on the Versa becomes a blurry mess. Please allow larger font sizes if you'd like to appeal to this demographic!

Some of us in the "stats" thread are having the same problem.

Hi, I read from many other members that they have a problem with the swiping up feature after updating, e.g. getting the Today screen. This accounts not only for Third Party Clocks but also for Fitbit's own clocks. Seems to be a serious problem. Is there a solution availble for this problem, otherwise IMHO updating at this very moment seems no to be the way to go.

Please update the rollout progress in the first post so we don't have to go through all the Forum posts to see any progress updates. Can't wait to get Fitbit OS 3.0!

Thanks!

Derek
