Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Hi,
What exactly is "What’s fixed" and the answer being "This release includes other bug fixes and improvements."?
If so, anyone and everyone can write release notes.
Please be specific in the bug fixes and improvements.

Seriously? We can add water and weight from our Versa but not the most important thing? FOOD? This is all about Calories in and Calories out so what in the world is taking so long to have the ability to log calories from the watch? How many more years do we have to wait for what should have been a default feature since day one!?

Hopefully we will get a notification of the update through the app. I have used the versa for the last 7 months and y experience has been that the fitbit app has never notified me of any pending firmware update. I always had to visit this forum to find out about any new update and to factory reset the device to update it. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised this time. Also I would suggest the fitbit team to send an email to all devices owners as and when a new firmware is available just as they send an email when the device's battery is low or weekly stats of the user.

Unfortunately, I needed to do a factory reset and now my versa download its firmware. First did not do well enough? Interesting.
We did it! Now it is OK again. We'll see...

HeatherHwi: That happened to me, too, and I was without a clock face most of the day. After trying numerous things including uninstalling and reinstalling the app, unpairing and repairing the versa, shutting off and turning on bluetooth, I changed my clock face to one provided by Fitbit and am not having any problems now. My tech son told me it is very common after a firmware update that any third party items being used will not work right away unless the third party has also done an update. (I did try other clock faces, but any that I tried left my clock face blank once I put my arm down.) I just wish Fitbit had more clock faces available.

Hi,
That doesn't really answer my question - do we need to have updated to 2.2 to get 3.0 (which I haven't as it has never appeared for me and I haven't factory reset) or will 3.0 still appear for download once it is fully rolled out?

It might take some time and a restart of the Fitbit for all the options to appear, that's what I experienced. I let it sit on the charger, connected to the WiFi but could only see the 3 options. After a restart, all the newer options appeared.
Also check if the Today app has been updated after the OS update (go into the Apps section of Fitbit app and see the Updated date of Today app).

Got the impression 20% of the user are selected for some kind of beta testing. I was still on 32.32.10.15, never received 32.32.20.19 since months. So, lucky me.
Anyhow, if 20% is representing e.g. 0.5 Mio user then the very few complains here (looping, battery drain) should indicate the new build is very stable.
This morning the update notification shows up. Lastest Fitbit App on Android Oreo 8.1.
Update runs flawlessly and took around 30 minutes. Todays app updated automatically. Surprisingly my customized clock face is still there. I guess this time the developer did the job! Congratulations.
Hope you can help the other users with the specific issues! This might be the price of an open ecosystem.
Cheers.

Unfortunately, I needed to do a factory reset again, because it did not get paired with Windows 10 app. But why should I download the same firmware again ???? Why??? Firmware download failed now. Bravo! 😞 My WiFi is perfect and fast....

After change of firmware, my Versa don't swipe up to show my stats. Could you please confirm if this is a bug of the new version and if so, when it is expected to be corrected?
Thank you.

After being stuck on logo screen for over 2 hours and removing and adding device again was eventually able to do factory reset which solved my issue however instructions for factory reset need rewriting as it says hold all three buttons while on charge which isn’t possible on versa

I had an issue with the Bluetooth connection to the watch. Unfortunately, the app wouldn’t let me update settings because it couldn’t detect that the watch was paired to my phone. I disconnected and reconnected the Bluetooth a few times and this didn’t work. I closed the Fitbit app and tried re-pairing and that didn’t work.
I restarted my phone altogether and forgot the Versa on my Bluetooth list altogether and repaired, opened app immediately and selected “Pair” from pop up notification so that it could work and it did.

I’m currently spending hours testing out the new update and the latest Fitbit App to make a comprehensive list of my reactions.
1. I did not follow any suggestions to force an update, even though it was clearly stated, that it wasn’t possible. I opened the app this morning and the option to update was available.
2. Updating was nearly seemless, however at some point, the app indicated the update failed and upon retrial, in a few seconds it was completed. It didn’t take more than 10-20 minutes to complete the update.
I restarted my phone altogether and “forgot” the device (Versa) on my phone Bluetooth setting altogether and repaired. I opened the Fitbit app immediately after and selected “Pair” from a pop up notification and that did the trick.
4. My 7:15 alarm went off and it finally did not automatically snooze after 3 buzzes. Let’s just say ITS ABOUT **ahem** TIME!!!!! Finalllllllyyyyyyy. This is TOP 1 reason I purchased both of my fitbits in the first place. I was highly disappointed for Fitbit to have shortened the alarm making it impossible for it to wake me up. Silent Alarm is a sweeeeeet feature to have as a busy working woman who needs to be awake promptly and in the least obnoxious way as possible. So overdue!
5. I’ve had no issues with the Today view at all. I did already have the latest version of APP and Fitbit Firmware before updating to 3.0!
So far amazing update but I’m definitely concerned about the battery life. It seems like the amount of information being tracked now may cause a slightly faster battery drainage. I’ll be back to let y’all know how it goes! I’ll restart my watch just to make sure all is well and I’ll track battery life. Thanks!

I am unable to swipe up. I have updated the fitbit app on my phone and placed my fitbit on the charger for over an hour until fully charged. I deleted my versa from my app and reconnected. Any other suggestions?

Finally able to swipe up with the new update. I updated my app on the phone, placed my fitbit on the charger until fully charged and charged my clock face to a basic one - the changing of the clock was what finally worked. I was able to change my clock face back to a Christmas one and no problems with swiping. Thanks!

Try this:
[Solution] Today stats missing or swiping up does not show stats after Fitbit OS 3.0 update
Edit: Ok, you got it working already! Saw your reply late.
