Fitbit Update: 9/16
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.1, available for Versa and Versa Lite
(Firmware Version: 68.9.12).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.

After I updated my versa yesterday I no longer receive text or call notifications to my versa. I unpaired it, factory reset it and still isn't working. The weather also is not syncing on the watch face. I am using it with a pixel 3a.

After syncing in the morning I'm not getting any other notifications apart fb and calls. The rest hasn't been changed since one year, all stopped just today. Tried everything, rebooting, pairing, syncing. NOTHING is working right apart those 2 notifications

So far I get all the notifications after update..Huawei mate 10 pro, Android Pie, Versa 1.

Since the update I no longer get notifications on my versa, all of my versa alarms were deleted (thank God I checked before I went to bed or I would’ve been late for work), and my versa keeps freezing and glitching.

Since this update, I no longer receive notifications or calls. They worked briefly after the update, but then became spotty and after trying to reset everything (including my phone), I don't receive notifications anymore.

I Cannot Wait for this Update! I've been checking the app Everyday to see if I got the Update Available!
I hope My Versa Lite Gets it Soon! I'll give updates on the Status once I do get it. So I can give my Reaction.

I'd wait. I told my gf to ignore the update if it pops up on the V1 I just gave her. I like Fitbit devices, but the software... Eh.

@Braezn @bystrom91 Hi! Both of you reported you had issues with the display glitching after completing this firmware update. After troubleshooting, has the issue persisted? Please let me know.

A lot of you have reported no longer receiving notifications to your watch after completing this firmware update. I recommend that you first make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app downloaded on your phones.
Then, try all our suggestions listed in this help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone
If that doesn't resolve the issue, please let me know.

@AlessFitbit tried following all of the steps you advised. Was looking almost successful at one point . But nope, no luck unfortunately. Incoming call notifications work, so there isn't a connection issue between my phone and fitbit. Just seems to be text messages, WhatsApp messages and calendar reminders, that i don't get notifications for. Pretty frustrating as i have my phone on silent pretty much all the time so rely heavily on the notifications on my watch...

My Versa 2 stopped getting text messages as well. I get notifications for calls, Facebook, calendar, etc., but the text notifications stopped. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the Versa 2, reinstalled the Fitbit app and reset the Versa 2, and followed the tech support instructions here:https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1610/?q=notifications&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1. Nothing helps.
It would be a shame to take this back after 3 days.....

As usual updating your software is a joke. I was able to sync my daily statistics but then I cannot connect to my Versa in order to update the firmware. How is that possible? How can I sync all of my data but not connect my Versa to my phone in order to update the firmware? Ridiculous.

Been trying to download the update for an hour. It keeps failing. Doesn't work via Bluetooth or wifi!

Does this address the glaring issue in the swimming function that doesn’t track laps on the new Versa 2?? The only options shown on the device are Pool Length and Screen Always On. It doesn’t vibrate when I’ve completed a lap or show how many lengths I’ve done like the Versa 1.
I tried to get around this by using the MySwimPro app but that doesn’t work either because there are no Right side buttons so I can’t save or even exit the exercise. My watch is stuck on the pause screen. For such a so-called “upgrade” I’ve had nothing but problems and will likely be returning it.

Same problem here. Miss having the easy notifications “on/off” option in the left button.

Yes I am still having issues. there was a three hour period when it worked normal and then back to glitches or no screen at all. vibrations and notifications when people text and call come through.

I have received the invitation to update my Versa firmware. After the horrible mobile app dashboard update (that was forced on us) and the complaints here on this update, I’d like to skip it. Is this firmware update going to be forced too or can I choose not to do it?
