Fitbit Update: 9/16
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.1, available for Versa and Versa Lite
(Firmware Version: 68.9.12).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

@MikeD73 Sorry. I'm new to this forum stuff and am not techy at all!
I have a Versa 1 Limited Edition and an up to date (as far as I know) Galaxy 7. I was not any text, Snapchat, or Instagram notifications after the Versa update. And all other notifications were "spotty".
I did a factory reset on the Fitbit since I wasn't concerned with the lose of anything at this point and uninstalled/reinstalled the Fitbit app.
I hope this clarifies things for you and for others.

I was excited to see that there was an app update an Apple iOS update and a firmware update. I've updated them all except for the the firmware update. It's not available to me yet. Early September the leaderboard app only says "Loading" on it. I was sent a new Versa and it's the same problem. Now that I updated to the new app and Apple iOS I don't receive notifications on my replacement Versa either! I'm starting to regret my decision to get a new Fitbit this year. This is my third model and likely my last. Hoping once I can update my firmware I'll be working fine and a happy customer once again.

I haven’t updated anything and I noticed my text notifications have stopped working. I didn’t do the firmware update, because of this thread, and I haven’t done the iOS 13 update, but still no text notifications. Between the new dashboard, new hardware and new premium service, Fitbit may have bitten off more than they can chew.

I noticed that after the upgrade that my Versa is now losing steps. For example, I looked at my steps an hour ago and it showed around 12000 steps for the day, then when I looked at it five minutes ago it showed 11890 steps. It also lost steps yesterday-- any reason the Versa is doing this? The only thing that I can think of is that is the result of the firmware update.

This is happening to me to. Getting no texts, but calls. Charge 2. Might be the latest update but I think it was happening a few days before that update.

I’m having major issues with my Fitbit Versa Lite. The charge lasts 1day & the face of the watch is all pixelated. It seems to be keeping correct data, but I’m not sure when this watch is going to die on me. I haven’t even had it a year.

I did the new update on Friday and now my versa one won't track my sleep, count flights of stairs or my heart rate. What is going on with this? It was working perfectly before I did the update. Is there a way to go back to the old version?

i just downloaded the new update to my Fitbit and now I can't swipe, tap, or scroll up or down on my watch. I've tried to restart it but that hasn't worked. Since i can't swipe tap or scroll on my watch, i can't access the setting on the watch to turn it off and on. AND my battery life went from 4-5 day of a charge since I did the update it has now gone from 100% to 51% in just a matter of 3 hours. Is anyone else have this problem? I have never had an issue with my Fitbit till now....NOT HAPPY!

What are you experiencing? My Fitbit screen suddenly stopped responding to touch and will randomly start tracking a workout or changing the settings. I reached out to support with no luck with their suggestions

You should be able to if your phone to paired via bluetooth. I can change songs, and volume down if I long press the left button and swipe to the left to see the music information.

I assume it is because of this undefined update, but I have been having issues with my Fitbit continuously all week. They are:
•only my snapchat notifications show and stay in the log. My emails, calls, and texts are not waking up my Fitbit versa lite (purchased in May 2019) and they are also not showing up in the notification log. However, bluetooth is connected, these notifications are turned on in the app and the test call works perfectly fine.
• on Tuesday night (9/17), I did not wear my Fitbit to bed so I could charge it... the next morning it said that it had fully logged my sleep and its patterns. On Friday night (9/20) I DID wear it to bed and my watch is showing no log for this.
• my heartrate was consistently over 100 bpm when active yesterday(9/21) and there is no record of my fat burn, cardio, or peak zone. This is important to me since one of my meds was causing tachycardia and since lowering the dosage to get off, I'm trying to prove that it was the medication and not an underlying issue. If I can't see trends, I can't do this.
If anyone else is having similar experiences since this update, please let me know. I've enjoyed my Fitbit so far and I hope this is just a troubled update and not the watch hardware/software all together.
