Fitbit Update: 9/16
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.1, available for Versa and Versa Lite
(Firmware Version: 68.9.12).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

I'm having the same problem. I get notifications for everything else except for text messages. I updated my phone and my watch at the same time, but I think it has something to do with the watch since I am getting other notifications. I've been all over this website looking for an answer that works, and I have yet to find one.

Done all those things and still no notifications on my Versa.

Well, well, well. This certainly would explain Fitbit's lack of giving a crap about their broken update. They're looking for someone to buy the company. Likely Google.

Does this fix the issue that I can not get text message notifications on my Versa or is this the reason they are no longer working? Everything was working fine then last week my text message notifications stopped working. I get phone call notifications and notifications from other apps, but not texts.

Hi, i have similar problems too. After update my Versa i can't recieve notifications. But only from WhatsApp! Calls and Messenger (when i switch from WhatsApp to Messenger) works good. Interesting is that Test call notification don't work too. Next problem what i have after update is connecting my Versa (via Versa classic) to bluetooth for control music. I am able to pair it again, but when i am away from my phone for a while, Versa lose connection and must pair it again in bluetooth setting on my phone (first "forget" old Versa classic connection and then make a new connection).
This is not good, because this features was one of main reasons why i choose for Versa. I hope i will not need to look for another watch. Please, repair it quickly. My watch are still in guarantee and if this would't function properly, i will send them back and ask for refundation.

Back to draining the phone battery now. Always the top app for battery usage at the end of each day
Rinse and repeat with this watch and app

My Versa updated. I turned on sleep mode, which I assumed is to prevent the screen from coming on while I am sleeping. Does sleep mode also prevent an alarm? I had an alarm set for this morning, which did not go off. I've had the same alarm set for several weeks (it's a new Versa), with no issue. The only difference this morning was that sleep mode was turned on.

Liz1975 - I just uninstalled it. I am on Android so not sure the same thing will work but I:-
- uninstalled fitbit app
- shut down phone
- restarted phone
- reinstalled fitbit app
Although, I was still receiving calls and sms notifications, just whatsapp wasn't working for me.

Since I updated the firmware a few days ago, my battery life has gone in the toilet! I used to be able to go 2+ days on a single, complete charge, now I can't get through a waking day. What's happened?

I've run into the same type of odd behaviors. PLUS, my battery life has gone in the toilet! Can't even get through a whole day on a complete charge.

@AlessFitbit I have tried all of the troubleshooting tips, but I am still having trouble with notifications since the recent firmware update.
If I navigate to the notifications screen on my Fitbit, the notifications are there, but they do not 'appear' on screen on arrival, nor does the watch vibrate.
Just to echo what a lot of other users are saying, I effectively have a Fitbit Digital Watch now - when is an updated firmware release due out to fix the issue which so many users seem to be experiencing?

Should I be Worried that My Lite isn't up to date on firmware? I'm Supposed to be on 38.68.9.12 But my Lite is 38.33.1.33. Do I need to update to what i'm Supposed to update to 4.0.1?

Hello, I have a Fitbit Versa and I have not received the banner in my Fitbit app to update my Versa. My sister has been able to update hers through her phone, but nothing has shown up for me. Is there anyway i can manually update it, and is there a reason why the banner has not shown up in my app yet?

I noticed on 9/22/19 that the time on my Versa was incorrect. I researched trouble shooting and noticed my fitbit app on my phone had an updated that was needed so I updated it and since then the fitbit app continually says it cannot find my device. I removed the device via the app and then had a difficult time getting it set back up. Finally got it setup about 4:30 p.m. on 9/23/19 and the time corrected itself and that was the last time it synced with the app. The time on my watch is 45+ minutes slow and the app is still stating unable to locate device. I have turned my bluetooth on and off on my phone and restarted my watch by pressing the 2 buttons simultaneously and still will not synch and correct the time display. The fitbit app is not showing me the banner yet at this time to actually update my watch, the update I did was only for the app itself on my phone.

At first I just tried deleting the app from my phone and re-installing. Didn't make a difference. So then I went to the Fitbit app on my phone and under Account, clicked "Remove This Versa". Then I reconnected it to my Versa and I am now receiving the notification vibrations to my Fitbit 🙂
