Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Since I updated my watch I don’t get the notifications anymore from the selected apps. I tried turning them off, shutting down my phone then turning it on again, also turning off and on my watch at the same time and separately, still I don’t get anything on my watch. Before the update I got everything. I have an iphone XR. How can I fix this?
thanks!

@TXaRicH this is the first I've seen that Alexa has been affected. I dont have it set up so I can't comment. But I've not read anything mentioning Alexa so this may be a first

@SunsetRunner no but you can go into play store click on your name and turn off auto update. It'll be a pain for the other apps you have but you'll get the option of not updating fitbit app

@Deathwishvixen I already have this set up so that the Fitbit app doesn't update automatically. I was asking if there was a way to permanently remove the Firmware update reminder from the dashboard.
My phone and Versa are actually syncing and I am receiving notifications nicely with the app version of 3.7. But I also didn't have any bad syncing or notification issues with the prior versions either. (Samsung Galaxy S7 - Android Version 8.0)
I am just hesitate to do this firmware update since everything is working the way that it should. I never received the notification for the previous update but saw how many users it affected and not in a good way.

Still working but upgrade has been to 32.68.9.15! There's no reference to this anywhere. UI has changed but I now have no clue as to what the OS version is !!!

The setting has been moved to Settings (on the watch itself) ->Sleep Mode -> Schedule. There you can set up a custom sleep schedule when you don't want to receive notifications 🙂

So are folks getting to different versions of the firmware? That seems odd.
Does one work better than the other????

This surprised me. I was on a 3x.xx.x.xx version and was expecting to upgrade to 68. I presume this is still an OS3 firmware rather than a OS4 but can't see why they would do this.
It isn't helped by the lack of a comprehensive listing of update functionality. The only change I've spotted is that settings/music/pay are now on a swipe pull down rather than a long LH button hold which now only gets you to Fitbit pay.

I did the firmware update yesterday and within 20 minutes my Versa started to vibrate and switch screens uncontrollably. It stopped after a few minutes, then started up briefly a few hours later. By the time I went to bed, it was back to normal but this morning I woke up to non responsive buttons and a black screen. It is syncing fine, including last nights sleep data, but the device itself won’t respond. I’ve restarted it and it buzzes, but no screen response. I’m certain it is related to the update. Any advice on fixing it?

Updated and it took me 2 days to update. Took me about 10 times of factory resetting and unpairing, even reset my phone and lost everything for it to still not sync. I've done all the trouble shooting, even called customer service and they told me they couldn't help.
I've had a Fitbit since 2016, and as of late it has been such a waste of time, money, and effort.

When the Fitbit app is updated how do we know what was updated or fixed? Still waiting for a fix to allow notifications from Message+ , used to get them on my Versa but an update caused problems and had to switch to Message which I dislike using. Thank you

My Versa is no longer vibrating when I receive texts. I’ve tried all the trouble shooting and tech support can’t help. Is this going to be fixed soon??

Doubt it. My notifications stopped working in July. Two months after warranty was up. Spent half an hour with a rep trying stuff I already tried only to have them tell me there wasn’t a fix. Updated yesterday and it’s still not fixed. This is my 8th Fitbit in 4 years because of poor quality. All have been under warranty, or else I would have gotten something else. Air pods don’t work with it either.
