Fitbit Update: 10/30

Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,

We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.

We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.

Fitbit Update: 10/9

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).

We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED

This release includes bug fixes and improvements.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here

To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

  • Try removing the device from the all and then setting it up again. My Versa wasn’t vibrating when I received texts but it’s working now.

If anyone is having trouble with notifications, try removing the device from the app and then setting it up again. The only issue I had was my Versa wasn’t vibrating when I received texts, but this fixed it. Otherwise everything else works great!

I did this: Made sure I synced first not to lose anything, and then removed
from the app and reinstalled. The first test text my husband sent me did
vibrate! Yay! My husband is having intermittent working with his versa text
notification. So I will see if it continues but a good start thank you made

@Heygardenteache it was.... they also said it was staged roll out so i don't know what your issue is with it.

Just wait like everyone else that hasn't had it. would you rather get it today full of bugs or get it later after the first few roll outs have had the issues resolved?

Hey Friend,

No need to bring Jesus into this. I don’t think he’d appreciate being invoked in order to guilt someone about how they feel 🙂

FYI, it was released (per Fitbit!) on September 20, so I don’t think you can question my patience. Sorry my experience rattled you so. I genuinely didn’t mean to impact your life. I hope it didn’t leave too much of an impact. Blessed be!

It's a tracker update. App has been updated several times. Will say 4.0.2 on app to update tracker firmware but tracker will say 68.9.15 when it's updated. BTW, mine updated fine and has been working fine: iPhone 7, Versa 1.

I thought I had mine working but now the notifications are off again. Cannot get the fitbit to pair with the phone or connect to the internet

My heart rate is inaccurate since the update it's been saying it's beating 10 beats per minute.

That’d be funny if you hadn’t paid so much for the thing!

Well done for sending out a bugged update...

You need to fix the music controls not staying connected in Bluetooth because you've got OFF after PAIR rather than ON! So you can connect it to your phone, then all you can do is turn it off again...

versa is still having problem receiving all notifications.  Firmeware is update using Android 9.0.

I've done the following:

restarting my phone and versa more than 10 times

reinstalling fitbit app seems to help but after awhile, the notification stops again?

Am i the only one having this issues?😫

I updated to the latest firmware, which coincides with getting a new phone. My fitbit versa 2 wouldn't sync and exhausted all troubleshooting, including a factory reset as a last resort. Now, my data is gone and my fitbit won't connect to ANYTHING (neither new or old phone).

Yesterday I got notifications back after removing the Versa from the app on
my IPhone 7 and reinstalling. Today notifications are gone again. Not just
not vibrating but not there at all!! My notifications have not worked
properly since September 20th. How much longer FitBit??

THIS! I thought I was going mad this morning when they weren’t working after I spent ages last night and though I’d finally cracked it!

Well...the engineers have been “working” on the elevated heart rate issue since 2018 so...yeah, Fitbit needs to get it together.

I had the same until I uninstalled the app and told Bluethooth to forget my
connection to versa.

Powered down my phone and Versa then turned them both back on. Re-paired my
Bluetooth connection and re-install the app.

Haven't had issues other than the black screen and heart rate monitor since.

Black screen easy fix hold down all 3 buttons for 12 seconds and thr watch
reboots itself.
