Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

All the reps who have contacted me have said, repeatedly is that they understand my frustration. They continue to mention that my Versa isn’t paired to my iPhone. I’m aware of that, it was unpaired as one of Fitbit’s troubleshooting steps. Now I cannot get my versa to pair back to my iPhone. Nor will it connect to my laptop running windows 10.
The more Fitbit reps tell customers to be patient, the more frustrated we become. It’s been weeks since these issues started, by the posts in this thread it’s been months for others. Personally some app features have never worked for me.
Fitbit is losing customers left, right and centre. This is beyond ridiculous at this point.

After OS 4.0.2 update, settings options no longer includes notifications. Does this mean notifications are no longer available? Or will it default to always receive notifications once the iOS issue finally gets resolved?

I was hoping running this and my app would fix the fact I’m not getting text notifications to my versa but it’s still happening. Is this still an issue?...it’s been months...

I was not. My battery died and I had connected to the charger for about an hour, I checked the charge level and that’s when I saw the message.

Not sure if this is caused by the new update, but my Fitbit now will not receive text message notifications. It receives all other notifications, just not texts. Anyone else have this issue?

That happened to mine and it was game over. Had to get them to send me a replacement! Mine did it after a factory reset after the new update as my notifications got messed up and it was the advice to reset it. I've not installed the update on the new one and it's working perfectly at the moment...

I LOVED my Versa prior to this update! I had not had any major issues with it other than occasionally restarting my Android phone to make it sync. Small inconvenience. Now I have a $160 non-working bracelet. My Versa went from functioning fine to routinely locking up and not powering on (even though previously charged) to then trying a factory reset to fix the problem I had the red X of death. Finally got that to go away but now my Versa won't hold a charge longer than a few hours when I was going days prior. It is like it locks up, screen won't come on, and drains battery. It has ruined my watch that is just barely a year old. The only solution customer support wants to offer is a 25% discount to by a new one. Why would I buy a new one for them to break? I have taken excellent care of the one I have because I can't afford to just replace it on a whim. Everything that I have seen online indicates the new ones are having issues too. I just want it fixed!!! Of course, fitbit doesn't offer a rollback feature to undo a bad update according to customer service. VERY FRUSTRATED! Will go back to Garmin if I am able to afford a new tracker at some point. My old Vivosmart still works after 3 years. Gave it to my daughter since it didn't have the features I wanted.

Did you get the Fitbit update?
I too was having issues everything was sending me notifications after the update except text alerts. I was beyond frustrated with customer service but in the end it was an icon that I hadn’t changed because I thought all of my notifications would show up on my phone and I didn’t want people to read them. But after going to the Notification Center again and selecting Notification Center it is working. I hope this helps.

Hello.
Since I did the firmware update to my Fitbit Versa, my text notifications either don't come through, or they are delayed. Also, if I'm receiving an incoming call & I answer it from my cell phone, my Fitbit still shows it as ringing. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone. Thanks for continue posting your inquiries in this thread. Let me help you out.
I appreciate the feedback you've provided about the firmware update on your watches. I understand where you're coming from as this shouldn't be happening, and I apologize for the issues you've experienced. Our team will continue working on our watches based on the comments posted in the Community, which help us to evaluate and implement improvements on our products.
Let me clarify with you that the firmware update can be found as either 4.0.2 and 68.9.15; both are the same and you can check this help article for more information about each update.
@Dawna0427, thanks for confirming that you have an iPhone 8 running the iOS 13 version, as well for the screenshot. I'm glad that they're working after enabling options in the Notification Center of your phone. Our team is aware about the notifications issues experienced after updating to iOS 13 and they're currently investigating this situation to get it resolved. For more details, check this thread.
@andy_glass, @Danihirka6, @lscollard and @LinnyMush13, thanks for sharing that you're having issues with the notifications and appreciate the details you've shared. To further investigate, please provide me with your phone's model and OS version. Also, in case you've not done so, give a try to the troubleshooting steps described in this help article.
@rrogan777, thanks for your question and let me share that the notifications settings are now in a different place. You'll need to swipe down from the top of your watch's screen, tap the quick settings icon and make sure the Do Not Disturb (little circle icon) as well the Sleep Mode (moon icon) are turned off to receive them. You can find more details about how to navigate on your Fitbit watch here.
See you around.

I updated my iPhone with the recent update and haven’t received text notifications on my watch since then. I receive phone calls and calendar invites, but no Texts. I downloaded the new update, resynced my watch... I’m not sure what to do. Any suggestions? I’m so frustrated!
