Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Yet another step backwards. 5 years ago, loved my Fitbit. Got a new one every 18 months or so. Since getting this Versa and going through each of the downgrades that you have come out with, nothing but problems. With this latest update, now I constantly get "bluetooth not connected" or "bluetooth pairing failed" or other errors. Not only that, the HR is way off, the notifications fail constantly (even when connected) and the run modes work about 50% of the time (can usually start but can't stop it). I've tried all of your tech support solutions, but this will be the last Fitbit product that I own. Will be switching to an iWatch or Samsung Watch. Just too bad. Been a Fitbit stockholder since inception as well (continuous stock drops but thought they'd right the ship), but clear that this company has no vision nor dedication to the future.

Thnx! Turning off the screen wake auto motion works for me too! As a work around of course 😊.

@Koel that is great! I'm glad that it's working!
So we have one more data point with the same problem and work around!

@ginamarie79I'm in almost the same predicament as you. Only difference is I have the Versa special edition.

@Luis_PT did your Win10 app give you a prompt to start the update?
Got my Versa SE plugged in charging, on the app it's showing a pic of a Versa with a green radar thing showing it's connected but still no update as of yet...

@pbug56 I believe the cradle is literally just for charging, there is no data transfer element to it

@Luis_PT hm, no such luck my end.
It's currently at 99% charged and I will leave it in the cradle when it reaches 100%.
Does the device have to be at 100% AND in the cradle to do the update? What was yours at?

Odd, because mine recognized the device as it usually does when I connect a flash drive or an external HD, for example.
After that the update was done and then asked me if I wanted to connect the PC and the watch via Bluetooth.
All the best,
Luis

I am having the same issue! Since the update my Fitbit Versa Lite will vibrate for phone calls but no text mesages or other notifications. text messages are improtatn for me as well as I can't always have my phoe on me. Being able to see the text message was part of the reason I chose to go with the Fitbit Versa and not spend the money on an Apple watch. ihave reset and powereed my versa off 2x with no luck. HEEEELLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

Did that and it did nothing. Have checked and triple checked to make sure everything is on after every reset and powering down.

@SunsetRunner
My Versa Lite had 40% of charged battery. I plugged it to the PC using the cradle and it started to update and charge. I bought my watch a week ago. I also thought that the cradle was only for charging, but after what happened to me, I have my doubts. However, Fitbit support never told me to plug my watch in to the PC. Could it be a new version supporting data transfer? Just guessing because this all issue is very strange.
Luis

@Luis_PT it could well be that the Versa lite cradle supports data transfer.
I have Versa special edition. Unsure how old it is as bought it second hand.
