Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

I updated my watch and now it's not working properly. the battery died within a matter of hours from almost fully charged, the screen looked messed up, and now that it's been on the charger for a while it won't turn back on.

@LizzyFitbit @MattFitbit
Can you please just tell everyone is there another update for the versa watch coming? The top banner message now reads "We’re aware that some customers may experience a compatibility issue with notifications after updating their iPhone to iOS 13. Find troubleshooting tips here." This used to say we are hard at work on a update to resolve this issue. There has been no update for weeks now.
Clearly the troubleshooting doesn't work. Have you seen the threads of comments under it. Nearly every person saying they are going to switch to apple or android watches. We just want the watch to work as normally before the update receiving notifications and the other issues that are happening. How you are still advertising to update the watch when you have IOS phone "for the best experience" baffles me.
I have been onto to support who continue to say the update is coming, won't give a replacement or refund and I have the watch less than 6 months even though it's not working as it is suppose to.

@SunriseRun427 Well, the "update tracker" notification finally showed up again despite not having the "All Day Sync" turned on as instructed in the user manual. I did forget your advise of restarting both devices before starting the update. No worries though, I put the Versa Lite on the charger and set my LG G7ThinQ close by and started the update. Took about an hour from start to finish. Everything is working fine, BUT the "update tracker" notification is still showing in the app. I restarted both devices but it's still showing. Any ideas on how to make it go away? I'm afraid to update again for fear of messing things up. 🙂

Hi @SunsetRunner @cepstein @Ginofs , nice to see you on the Community! Thank you for your comments and feedback!
@Ginofs , thank you for sharing your findings and troubleshooting the issue with the recommended steps. As they didn't helped, I informed Support about this. The'll be contacting you via email very soon!
Please keep me posted.
@cepstein , a warm welcome to the Community! Support informed me that you already reported this situation, in case you have doubts, please let me know!
@SunsetRunner , thank you for your feedback! Our team is always working on improving our products. We haven't received any information when an update is going to be released. As with all devices, it's always recommendable to have them updated, independently from the brand and kind of the device.
If you have any question about the return and refund I recommend you to have a look at our Warranty Guidelines and Terms of Service. You can also contact Support again, they'll be more than glad to help you with any question regarding this.
@SunsetRunner , nice to see you back! I'm glad that the update went smoothly! If you can still see the banner to update the watch, you need to sync your Versa Lite, so that the app recognize that the update was successfully installed.
I'll be around if anyone needs more help!

Really, @JuanFitbit, that kind of goes without saying. I have synced the app with the watch numerous times today.

@MattFitbitI have updated my Versa Lite and synced the app with the watch, but the "Update Tracker" notification still shows in the app. How do I make it go away?

@cepstein try pressing and holding the button on the left side until the Fitbit icon shows up. You will have to hold the button for what seems like a long time. If the icon doesn't show up, I'm at a loss. Sorry.

@SunsetRunner
Good stuff!
Go into Settings--->About on the tracker and you will see the latest firmware version at the top. If it is xx.68.9.15 then congratulations: job done!
As for the notification in the phone app, I imagine it is safe to ignore assuming the firmware installed, annoying though it may be.

In that case, you don't need to do anything else. Enjoy using your tracker until the next update comes along!

Why are you pushing people so hard to install a clearly problematical update to the Versa's? So many people are having problems with a new update that adds more problems above the ones that came from the previous update. Plus, if I recall correctly, encouraging setting all day continuous sync when on Versa and some Android phones it can cause the phones to get extremely hot and run their batteries down? Fitbit acknowledged to me many months ago that the only way to deal with that problem is to not do full sync. Am I misunderstanding something here?

i was basically told "too bad so sad" after their update crashed my watch. ive tried everything and nothing has worked and the best they can offer is 25% off...

The problem is when and if they ever get around to bring us a new update and if we have the confidence to download it.

After the latest iOS update and the firmware update my Versa cannot be found. It also had stopped keeping track of my sleep before the firmware update. I have called several times and done everything support has suggested. Won’t connect to Bluetooth. Now the time on watch is off an hour so it is useless to me. It’s still covered under warrant but Fitbit won’t do anything about that. Told me to wait until they figure it out. I would just like a refund and forget the Fitbit if this dies not get fixed soon. Warrant will run out 1st if the year. Ugh

I'm new to the Fitbit community and have been following this thread, sort of. Are the problems people have been experiencing after updating affecting users with Android and iPhones, or only iPhones?

Both I believe

Hi everyone. It's good to see you here in the Forums and let me continue helping you with your inquiries.
Thanks for the time taken to share your thoughts about your watches and I'm sorry for the issues that you've had with the firmware update. Our team keeps receiving your feedback to work on our products and enhance your experience with them. Be sure that every comment here counts.
@SunsetRunner, thanks for confirming that your Versa syncs fine. Since the banner is still displayed, please take a screenshot and attach it in your reply with the steps described here. This will help me to further investigate.
@pbug56, thanks for your feedback and about your inquiry, the All-day sync function shouldn't cause any issue to your watch or phone. However if you encounter any unusual behavior with this function, please let me know so I can further investigate and give you a hand.
@dhoganjr, thanks for keeping an eye on this thread. To answer your question, let me share that this thread is to report any issue experienced during or after the firmware update on the Versa's family watches. These issues were experienced by users using both, Apple and Android devices. If you have an issue with your Versa watch, let me know.
@SunriseRun427, thanks for your big help out here!
I'll be around, keep me posted.
