Fitbit Update: 10/30

Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,

We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.

We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.

Fitbit Update: 10/9

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).

We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED

This release includes bug fixes and improvements.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here

To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

For the 18th time, on my Samsung S8+, having full sync turned on with my
Versa kills the phone battery in a few hours while coming close to broiling
the phone, making it too hot to handle. As per Fitbit tech support, set
Versa app on phone for manual sync. Only thing that auto syncs are
notifications. After that phone cooled off and battery life went back to
normal.

This is a known and documented problem, taking a lot away from the
usefulness of the phone. Even worse, the previous update to the Versa
requires one to reboot the Versa before synching it up - else the app never
finds the Versa to do the synch.

Why would I want to do the latest Fitbit BUG update to make synch even
worse?

And when will SPO2 readings be available in watch faces, and be used in the
sleep analysis (without paying extra for a feature that was advertised for
the phone)?

PLEASE - no more automatic bot responses here.

@dhoganjr

This particular thread is related to a recent firmware update ON THE WATCH, and generally relates to problems with watch functions. It may or may not affect Apple iOS or Android devices as well.

After I installed this update, My Vera stopped vibrating when I receive a text message. It still vibrates when I receive a phone call or for Fitbit notifications. I still receive text messages to my Vera. I have checked all the settings several times. Restarted the verso and the app and the phone. My phone is Samsung Galaxy S8.

I also have a glow just down the left side of the face.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you reset your Versa back to factory settings it will revert back to the original OS version. On my Versa, that’s 32.33.1.30. Since I’ve done that I’m not having any of the problems listed above, anymore. Reset your Versa. Avoid the update.

I’m unable to even do that because my watch crashed and won’t charge or do anything now

How do you reset the Versa?

swipe left to your "Settings"

scroll down to "About"

scroll down to "Factory reset"

In all fairness if your doing that ring Fitbit first as they will talk you through the steps as there may be more to your issue and they can do things from their side that you cannot see.

@LizzyFitbit. the banner went away on its own yesterday.  I guess it needed 24 hours to recognize the tracker was updated.  😄

I'm still waiting on the update coming through...

Have had my Versa plugged in charging, Win10 app open, and it's all fully connected with all day sync and everything else turned on for over an hour now...

Why? Is it working now? Why would you want to risk it? Why do you need
to do the update?

@pbug56on 30 October the OP of this thread was updated to state that the update had been rolled out to 100% of users.

I'm still waiting for it.

My phone is too old so the android app version I have is an older version which the update won't be pushed through on so I will have to do it via the Win10 app(Pc is fully up to date, therefore the app is up to date too).

I have been connecting my Versa via the Win10 app every day ever since I saw the updated OP(about 3 days after it was updated) and still nothing.

So, unless the update has been pulled...

Why would you want an update that is causing problems for so many people?
I'm still dealing with problems from the previous update.

@pbug56  I'm not actually having any problems with my Versa, the (older) android app nor the Win10 app or connectivity, notifications, syncing or anything.

I'm sure I read somewhere too that if you factory reset your device it restored it to the version it was shipped with so I shall do that if there are any problems.

But why do you want the latest bug release? We have hundreds of complaints
here from people who installed it.

Is this the update ending in 15, or a more recent one?Chris

Oh boy the update has been horrible so your better off without it unless you want mega problems with the Versa. This morning after days have gone by with the update down loaded and Versa not working at all because of the update I finally decided to completely do a factory reset on my Versa. Deleted the app installed another iOS update and restarted my iPhone. Reinstalled my Versa to a new downloaded app. And finally it is working without the latest Fitbit upgrade on it. Now I have a connected working Versa again. It still gets lost and not connected to Bluetooth at times but then reconnects and updates. It’s better than not working at all. I am so frustrated and I have until Dec 14th until my 1 year warranty is up. Of course Fitbit is not yet ready for me to use my wArranty as they tell me to wait fir another update as they are working on it. Let’s just hope it continues to work. Ugh. I should have just gone with the Apple Watch when I was making a decision on a smart watch. Oh well just rambling but wanted to let you know the issues many of us are facing
