Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

After updating, my Versa won't work anymore, whereas I had no problem before. To start with, the Versa would not update the time and was like a watch running behind, losing about 1/2 hour a day or more. I contacted customer service, and after performing the suggested troubleshooting list, it now won't sync at all! Before this it was at least syncing data from the Versa to my phone. Now I'm just getting bot-generated email replies from customer service that say how much they care, and have I gone through the troubleshooting list? Help!

I advise you not to install the latest update, just look at all the problems it has caused. My Versa is useless after the upgrade.

I've got message on fitbit app 2 weeks ago that there is firmware update, but luckily I read this thread earlier, so I ignored update. Now I don't have this message anymore. My versa now running previous version of firmware and everything works flawless (except water logging).

Lucky you, sadly for me it is not possible to do a factory reset without loading the latest firmware, so now my versa is useless.

Hi everyone. Thanks for posting in this thread and I'm sorry for the delay. Our team continues working on the Versa family to enhance their performance and be sure that every feedback posted in this thread will be passed along to them, as that helps us to evaluate our procedures and services.
@S-graves07, thanks for giving a try to the steps posted above on your iPhone 7, as well for trying on your Windows 10 laptop. Since the time is still not updating after troubleshooting it, I've contacted our Support team and updated your details so they can continue working with you via email. You should be getting a reply soon.
@andy_glass, thanks for sharing that your Versa is giving you inaccurate heart rate readings. I know how you're feeling as this feature isn't working and let me help you out. Just to confirm, do you wear your Versa as described in this help article? Besides that, on your watch swipe to the left, tap on Settings > Heart rate and turn them off. Restart your Versa and turn back on the heart rate settings. Let me know how it goes.
@aparadise, thanks for bringing this to my attention and the steps tried prior posting. Since your Versa isn't working correctly, I've gone ahead and requested a case on your behalf so our Support team can give you a hand. Keep an eye on your inbox.
@gwinny, thanks for your reply. While the Moto Z appears in our compatible devices list, the Fitbit app hasn't been optimized for your Moto Z2 Play. I appreciate you for checking this information and so we can work on this together, please try using a compatible device. This way we can see if the same happens when using the Fitbit app.
@Rhyscat, thanks for troubleshooting your Versa on your own to update the time displayed. I see your point of view and I'm sorry that you're having this experience with your watch. I've checked your information and apparently our team is taking your case on their hands. Please reply to their emails so they can investigate on their end and provide you with further assistance.
@Eirik0000, I'm sorry for the experience that you've had after updating the firmware and thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot it on your own. I see your point of view about this situation and to help you out please provide me with more details about your Versa behavior. For example, if the screen isn't working or if you're not able to get it synced. Also, besides the factory reset, what other steps have you tried?
@Ashdble84, thanks for sharing that you have an iPhone 11, and @lmazz722, thanks for your feedback. If the notifications issues you're having started after updating to the iOS version 13, I'd recommend to visit this thread so you can receive more updates and ask questions about this situation. Our team has received our team members comments and they'll continue working on a solution.
Let me know if you have other inquiries.

I've given up. Took my Fitbit back to the store and got a refund. Have moved to a Samsung Active. I am so bitterly disappointed Fitbit obviously doesn't care enough about its customers to admit their mistakes and roll back the update as I loved my Versa when it did what it was supposed to do.
Goodluck everyone, but Willowoz out 😡

When you do see it I would not bother updating it has caused so many issues. I have it on my replacement versa and refuse to update as it ruined my diest watch

I don't even have anything except lines showing on my watch face. Yesterday it totally tweaked out and started sending message replies to texts from ages ago. I have a Pixel and also had no issues until I updated the fitbit device itself.

I did the update still don’t get text alerts on my Fitbit. Just purchased our two fitbits in August and wish I wouldn’t have wasted my money. I could have paid a lot less for what I have now, a step counter watch.

iPhone 8 and 13.1 latest software
I have tried all the troubleshooting Fitbit has recommended. I receive all notifications other than text. All of my radio buttons are turned on for notifications in the app and on my settings.
