Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

I noticed under settings when you scroll down to left button there is an option for notifications. Not sure if that will enable because every since the upgrade I’m not receiving text on Fitbit. Every time there’s an upgrade this happens!

Sorry to hear you are having issues with you Versa, that is why I am refusing to update my Versa, I use an older iPhone 5s and I think if I do the update it will brick my Versa.
My only suggestion is if you can't get your Versa up and running again return it under warranty as Fitbits now have a 2 year warranty there should be no issues replacing it as a faulty unit.
For me I am waiting till I can afford another Fitness watch and as I use a iPhone will be going for an iWatch, Fitbit no longer cares about it customers as it show with there Dashboard update so I feel why should we support Fitbit as a company.

Grant

Greetings,
My Versa's firmware was updated to 32.68.9.15 yesterday. It's paired with IOS 13 but it feels very sluggish, I don't load any additional apps into my Fitbit Versa but I just feel that the latest firmware updates are not optimized for Versa. Battery consumption accelerated and the whole fitbit just feels slow even when scrolling across pages. Hope this will be improved..
Thanks.

I have had the exact same problem. Did everything possible on my app and watch to fix. Customer service told me that my notifications are listed as being off. Best I can think of is I bumped the button and turned notifications off on my watch shortly before the update and now the option to turn it back on has been lost. I'm about to factory reset, sell it cheap and get a Samsung watch. Notifications while I'm at work is the reason I went with the versa over an alta

Looking at all the people who are having notification issue, I thought I was the only one who is receiving notifications until I got to your post - my music control is gone too. I've also done everything, IE, reset and reinstalled the fitbit right from step 1. When I press left button which I've set for music control, the dreaded "no phone connected" message appears. My phone also locks, even though the Samsung smart-lock is activated for the fitbit so it seems the phone doesn't "think" it is connected to the watch. So despite everything seeming to indicate is not connected, it is; I'm still getting notifications, sync is still working (steps, hours active etc on the app) and even connected GPS is still working for activities which previously had been a great source of annoyance (https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Versa-Smartwatches/Versa-connected-GPS-issues/m-p/3085862#M57793)
I'll watch with interest to see if Fitbit can explain how a "not-connected" phone can still do most things a connected phone does!

Didnt see if anyone else replied with this but my heart rate tracking is wildly off. Itll be at 80-90 when im moving, then ill look at it a bit later and itll say 10-11.
I have already tried restarting it. And also turning heart rate monitoring off, turning my device off, and then turning them both back on.
im going to hopefully assume that this is just a bug with the update

After the latest firmware update to my Versa - I am unable to sync my active minutes or my nightly sleeping. Even though I know I am being active and sleeping, it will not register.

Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to participate in this thread. I'm sorry for the delayed response and let me help you with your inquiries.
Let me share that this latest firmware update will change the interface of the Versa and Versa Lite to match that of Versa 2. While some options will remain the same, one of the changes is the control center from which you can open music control, Fitbit Pay (if applicable), Alexa (Versa 2) and quick settings. To learn more about the new quick settings, check this help article.
Also, when holding the back (left) button for 2 seconds you can quickly access a feature such as Fitbit Pay or Alexa. You can chance which feature activates when you hold the button by opening the Settings app on your Fitbit device and tap the Left Button option. The possible shortcuts vary based on your device.
Just to clarify, we've released one firmware update which can be found as either 4.0.2 and 68.9.15; both are the same and you can check this help article for more information about each update. Currently there isn't an option to remove the banner requesting to do the update, but your feedback is truly appreciated. Keep in mind that this firmware update is different from the Fitbit app update version, and for any question you can visit the Android board and iOS board.

I've contacted our Support team and apparently they have provided you with assistance. Please reply back to their last email if you have any other question about their resolution.
@SunsetRunner, thanks for the screenshot provided. @Hh419, @Shadowfox87 and @mjmarmo, thanks for letting me know about your Versa's behavior. You did a good job with the troubleshooting steps and since the issues are persisting, I've gone ahead and requested a case on your behalf so our team can give you a hand. Keep an eye on your inbox.
@KrissyF1313 and @SylphKitty, thanks for troubleshooting your Fitbit devices. Although you've tried restarting them and turning off/on the heart rate settings, could you please confirm if you're wearing your Fitbit device as described in this help article. If you continue having issues with the heart rate or the screen, let me know so I can continue working with you.
@Shamblesirl, thanks for letting me know that the missing auto-sleep mode for the notifications. If you've not done so, please give a try the steps posted by our friend @SunsetRunner. Keep me posted.
@jawadniz, @kaydobbo and @SunsetRunner, thanks for bringing to my attention that the notifications aren't showing up on your device, although they appear when you swipe down. This is unusual and to further investigate, I'll need you to provide me with your phone's model and OS version. Also, if you've not done so, I'd recommend to remove any device including your Fitbit from the Bluetooth settings in your phone, turn off other Bluetooth connections, open the Fitbit app and setup the notifications one more time.
@SunsetRunner, about your other inquiry, do you mean that you're unable to control the volume? If so, let me share that at the moment our Fitbit devices cannot control the volume on Apple Airpods, however your feedback will be passed to our team so they can improve our products.
@StonkerFit, @Kcap79, @kaydobbo and @chrysalide, thanks for your question about adjusting the function set for left button. I'd recommend the steps that were posted by our friend @RonaldM.
@pumping_iron_11 and @WBee, I'm sorry that your devices aren't updating correctly and appreciate your efforts while working on this prior posting. If you've not done so, please check this help article and try the troubleshooting steps to update through WiFi or Bluetooth.
@Jujube289, I'm sorry about that the alarms aren't showing up correctly on your Fitbit device. To help you out, please confirm if you've tried restarting your Fitbit device. If so, please try taking a picture of what is displayed on the alarms screen of your Fitbit device and share it with me. For instructions to attach a file in your reply check this post.
@ForrestVan, @TXaRicH, @Casual_Runner and @KerriSetz, thanks for the information provided. Since your post didn't include that information, please confirm if you've tried the troubleshooting steps from this help article. Make sure your phone is part of our compatible devices list, as well to turn off other Bluetooth connections that are nearby.
@SylvieC, @craiga and @Kzeel, thanks for bringing to my attention that the screen wake, brightness and touch screen functions aren't working. Just to confirm, have you tried restarting your devices? If not, give it a try so we can refresh their performance.
@SunsetRunner, @b.peters, @SimpleBerryRoy and @WillowOz, thanks for letting me know that the music control isn't working, and for the steps tried. I'd recommend to turn off other Bluetooth connections to avoid any interference, and give a try to the steps described in this help article so you can adjust the source to your phone.
@Mon24, thanks for joining this thread and explaining that you've had issues to get notifications. Since you mentioned to have updated your Samsung phone to this new update, do you refer to the firmware update for the Versa or the Fitbit app update? Also, please confirm if you've tried the troubleshooting steps from this help article.
Now, for the ones that are having issues to receive notifications on your Fitbit devices, please make sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version and there aren't other Bluetooth connections nearby. If you synced your Fitbit device with another phone/tablet, remove your Fitbit device from their Bluetooth settings and take those devices to another room. I'd recommend to give to the steps suggested in this help article in the given order.
In case you're using an iPhone running iOS 13, let me share with you that our team is aware of the issues experienced after updating this iOS version and they're currently working on this. For more updates, please check this thread.
I'll be around if you have another question.

I had to do the same to get notifications on Fitbit. I don’t like the feature of previews on my phone and don’t get why this update only works with this on.

@LizzyFitbit, I'm not going to turn off other Bluetooth devices (headsets, speakers, car Bluetooth etc) as the should be able to work together. Secondly the advice (...@WillowOz, thanks for letting me know that the music control isn't working, and for the steps tried. I'd recommend to turn off other Bluetooth connections to avoid any interference, and give a try to the steps described in this help article so you can adjust the source to your phone....) proposes the watch is connected, and as I explained, it is showing as NOT connected despite still syncing and receiving notifications. I'd appreciate someone looking into the issue rather than being fobbed off with canned responses.
Thanks

@LSiemert "Did I miss something??? I believe I have seen MANY people who aren't likeing the new swipe down quick menu feature because it gets in the way of swiping down to read your notifications. Is there not a way to turn this feature off?
Thanks,"
I think the only thing we've missed somewhere is that this seems to be an intentional change by Fitbit to match the Versa 2. To me that implies they have zero intention of changing it no matter how many people complain. I don't know what drugs their design team are taking, but on what is these days one of the smallest displays in the smart watch market, who ever thought this was a good idea wants sacking. Ludicrous implementation. Apart from anything else I never use the music control on my Versa so the last thing I ever want to see is that music shortcut. And Fitbit Pay is just about useless in the UK so I don't need that either.
