Fitbit Update: 10/30

Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,

We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.

We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.

Fitbit Update: 10/9

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).

We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED

This release includes bug fixes and improvements.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here

To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

That was my problem. Tried factory resets, unpairing/repair, tried using my PC, etc. Best bet imo is to just get a replacement, and don't bother updating firmware ever.

I have tried everything and still nothing. This happened when I updated the watch. I have an iPhone8, I was running the old IOS before this when the issue happened. Updated my iPhone ans still nothing. I only have the watch 5 months.

Hello!

Since the firmware update my Versa has an inaccurate hear rate.  Sitting here at my desk it currently reads 136!   I’ve powered my Versa down and restarted but this did not fix the issue.  Please help!  I’m no longer getting an accurate heart rate and I’m frustrated

Six days in with the new firmware and my OG Versa gets all notifications, battery life is still about 3 days per full charge, and stays paired with my P2XL at least as well as it did before the update.  There is literally nothing I can complain about.  I wish I knew why some people were having so many difficulties, well Android users anyways.  Apple users have iOS to blame.

I have watching this feed in the forums and it seems obvious that there is some sort of issue with Bluetooth and Android.  Is there some message similar to the IOS 13 message for android users.  I am seriously considering moving away from Fitbit if they don't even communicate.

Hey there! I have updated the firmware and literally done everything noted anywhere and still can’t get any of my texts after updating my iOS. Any word on an actual fix for this?

To get help from the community you're going to have to provide more details.  Which watch?  Which phone?  Which OS on the phone?

I'll be around if any question arises.

For the users that are experiencing high heart rate readings, syncing and Bluetooth connection issues, I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your devices, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. After this, try connecting your devices again and see if the issue gets fixed.

The only thing that I did was on my IPhone 11, I had to mark the ‘preview text’ to always. Now I get text notifications on my Fitbit. I hate having my text messages across my phone for privacy reasons, but I have to have my notifications on my Fitbit due to work.

Thanks for the help Juan. It seems as tho I have to have my notifications on my phone set to display at all times which I can't do due to my work and seriousness of data confidentially. I messaged and did trouble shooting this morning and was told this was the case.  Bummer it wasn't like this before and I've only had the watch 2-3 months. I specifically got this watch so I could monitor my text and calls. Kinda lost at what to do besides sell the watch and get an apple watch. I have iPhone 7s plus with the latest update. This update is depressing lol

Juan,

What about me? I did a factory reset and now the watch is dead with just a red cross and saying  data not cleared sync and try again.

I can't do anything with it. Have tried everything. How do I go about getting a replacement?

I noticed snapchat being deleted as well...I had it on mine and now it's like they've deleted it completely from the apps you can use.  Frustrating!

@LizzyFitbitI I tried the troubleshooting steps in the help article you linked. After the Fitbit app was uninstalled and reinstalled, the app couldn't find the Versa to reconnect it, much less sync it. The watch itself is running interminably slow, with a response to button pushes or swipes so slow it seems as if the screen is frozen. My phone is part of the compatible devices list, and other nearby Bluetooth connections were turned off. I believe the firmware update effectively bricked my Versa.

After firmware update my watch always gives a message "Weather error. See Watch Face Settings.

I do not get any help when I do that and error persists.  Tried installing a new watch face and then reinstalling the one I had.  Still no resolution, message persists.
