Fitbit Update: 10/30
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family,
We're happy to announce that Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15) has now gone out to 100% of all users. Please download it if you haven't already.
We always recommend keeping your watch and the Fitbit app up to date on the latest versions to have the best experience.
Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2 (Firmware Version: 68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

@cccoach they're probably hoping people will just get the newest most expensive one. I contacted fitbit support and they said you really have tried everything so we will look at this under a warranty issue.

My “newest most expensive” one is not working after the latest update either. I think I am ready to just throw in the towel and get an Apple Watch,

@cccoach they won't refund them, just send you a new one. It'll be a tax right off for them. They've told me they will replace mine and it's been ordered.

So I update to the new IOS a few days ago, then just yesterday I saw the new firmware update so installed that. And since my Fitbit versa hasn’t worked correctly. Currently my Fitbit is stuck in the music settings, I am unable to restart or reset back to factory settings. Even removed and repaired it on my account but that didn’t change anything. For now all I can hope is that once the battery dies I can charge it back up and be back to the normal home screen. Any other thoughts on how to fix?

Is there any way of stopping the 'Music Wallet and Quick links' drop down that happens everytime I scroll down to look at notifications? I don't want it to happen and cannot find a setting to stop it.
Thanks

Not yet. My Versa is a useless brick as of now.

My Versa is stuck on the Music app screen as well. Fitbit has not provided any meaningful information on how to fix the issue. I intend to do the same thing as you as a last resort. I'll let it die and hopefully shutdown for a restart, then see if a recharge will bring back function.

@Adtracker get in contact with fitbit support. They're replacing my versa in the hope that'll fix my issue

Congratulations are in order, I suppose. Fitbit was finally able to screw the music control completely - It doesn't work anymore at all. 👏(Nexus 5x)
(Yes I tried restart (versa, phone), unpair, reset ...)

Versa 2 - update took about 4 minutes over Bluetooth and 4g and everything seems to be working fine 👍

I completely agree. I for one would prefer. Firmware update where it resets everything and I just reprogramme it to do what I need it to do than do a half job and mess it all up. I am in constant contact with members of staff far higher up the food chain regarding the state of the Versa 2 since its launch and its problems.
This has been the most substantial and positive update. Hopefully the next update will be for the app and sort out the Bluetooth connectivity issue as this has been a serious bug bear for many users according to Windows bug reports

Music controls disconnect/unpair within minutes of pairing since 4.0.1
Please, Fitbit, the only/best way to help everyone is to allow* users to choose which firmware our devices use via the app. We're all here because our devices worked (or mostly) and have since stopped working. If we could each go back to the particular version that worked for us before, then you have breathing room to work on fixes. Thinking that the next version will somehow fix all or most of these different problems doesn't seem rational.
*allow as in, we own these devices and you never should have prevented it
