Fitbit Update: 1/9/2020
Hey, Versa Smartwatches family!
I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the New Year. Before the holidays, we released this firmware out to 100%.
If you still don't see the update for Fitbit OS 4.1 (70.7.14) because it's brand new or perhaps was gifted to you for Christmas, please continue syncing the watch and make sure you have all-day sync turned on. You will soon after see the banner prompting you to update to this firmware.
Thanks for your patience and hope you continue enjoying this update!
Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30 minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations and if on, the always-on display on Versa 2 to preserve your battery life.
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa/Versa 2 can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, Versa 2 or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips. If you have any issues after completing the update, when in doubt, try a restart on the watch.
How to restart your watch:
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Why can we no longer enter weight and body fat to the decimal. Everything is rounded. It's a shame when you use the Fitbit for weight management. Disappointed in the upgrade

Hi,
First of all, I must say that I have a year with my VERSA without any problem. After installing the latest update (Firmware Version 32.70.714, according to the app), I have problems with the battery. I always charge my Versa before bed and turn it off when charging 100%. 8 hours later I turn it on and I see that the battery is at 56%, I have 2 days with the same problem. Before the update, my Versa lasted up to 4 days without charge. I thank you for informing me what to do to remedy this problem.

My fitbit versa seems to be stuck. It will show the logo for 20 seconds then goes off for 10 seconds. It won't connect to anything. What is my next step? I have tried turning my phone on and off, I have tried turning off my fitbit but it just keeps cycling with the logo. This happened after trying numerous times to update.

Hi @CBV2
What I mean with screen responsiveness is that using my versa with some third-party clock faces makes my screen very slow switching through the menus and scrolling through notifications or through the Today app. I'm not talking specifically about the new clock app on the versa that I'm not using that much.
For example, between the moment my finger is making the gesture and the screen reacting, it may take 2 seconds or more.
As for the Today app, I knew how to add new parameters to display but was oddly only offered 3 parameters. After switching off my phone the night after my versa's update, the morning after everything went back to normal with all parameters back, woot woot !

Same here. Thought something was wrong with the app. Looks cheap to me. Liked the pictures much much better.

After the recent upgrade to my Versa 2 to 35.70.7.14, step count is not as accurate as it was before - Google Fit app is reporting more steps than my Versa 2 - and I wear the Versa 2 all the time, but I don't necessarily carry my phone all the time.
Not sure what has happened but would appreciate any suggestions...

Well, restarted my watch and now the step count looks better. Go figure.

Don't get too happy, I had to do a hard factory reset on mine and it work (s) great now for about 2 hours out of everyday. And it restarts itself throughout the day, therefore missing part of my steps/activity. I also have issues with the touch screen that those other 22 hours of the day make my watch absolutely useless...2016 Blaze I passed onto my husband STILL working beautifully. Why is "New & Improved" usually not?

Nope, not fixed.

Press all 3 buttons at the same time fot more than 10 sec. Fitbit gave a bad update and is completley silent about this.

After the update, my heart rate monitor stopped working. I went into the "settings" on my watch and had to turn on the "heart rate". I think it automatically turned it off.

Other than not being able to choose the clock faces I want, my firmware upgrade is quite satisfying compared to what other have been experiencing though.
As for the battery draining problem, I experienced it on a former update and on a Versa that used to run smoothly before (now it's a brick in a drawer). As I was still under warranty, I could get a replacement product even if I think it was a software rather than a hardware issue... It's a shame that this problem is still up to date with newest updates 🤔

Hello everyone, and welcome to all the new users in the Community.
It's good to know this was resolved for you and that you were able to turn the screen on @Lulabell1990. Thank you for the update.
Thank you for sharing all this information about what you've been experiencing with the watch and all the steps that you already tried @Crisanvic @Elephant216, its seems that you already got in touch with the Customer Support team about this. Let me know about the outcome.
@tungty, thank you for sharing your experience with this. Let me know if you continue to experience the same inconvenience with the information not updating.
@Lanayru @Redi2bfit, as mentioned earlier, this is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. You should receive it soon as well.
@SunsetRunner @SOULSHINE66 , thank you for sharing the steps that you already tried on your watch. I've gone ahead and sent your information to the Customer Support team for further assistance, so you should be getting a reply soon.
@Tessa-l @Taragood21, before considering other options, please make sure to check all the necessary requirements and if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve problems with notifications: Why are notifications delayed or missing? Also, make sure to check if the phone you're using is listed here as a compatible device to sync with the Fitbit app: Which devices are compatible with the fitbit app?
@SunsetRunner, could you please provide a few more details about this? Let me know if you're haven't been able to sync your data or if you're having trouble to receive notifications.
That's great news, thank you for sharing @Beezy1978.

@dcapra211 @PaddleOn, I'm sorry to see that you've experienced trouble with the update. It is particularly difficult when the device is no longer covered by the warranty, but even tough Support is eager to help with any problem you may experience with the product, they do need to adhere to the official warranty policy, this would start counting from the original date of purchase.
@Lucidqo @lilblulamp, could you please confirm which is the mobile device that you're using to sync your data?
@jackwinguk @Geertje @Gilly433 @sway102 @RazvanD, please let me know if you already tried the steps mentioned here earlier (restart procedure).
Thank you for your feedback about this @SunsetRunner, although some steps have been suggested by other users, unfortunately there is not secure way to return to a previous version of the firmware.
Thank you for sharing these updates as well @cbtann and @rjherbein.
Keep me posted.

Hey. Unfortunately, I have tried the restart procedure and I have also remove the watch from my fitbit account and phone app and re-synced them. Still the same behavior, Especially with starting the watch, I need to still press all 3 buttons and it doesnt charge or start when it is shutdown and put into its docking station which worries me a bit because if I won't use it and it goes down to 0%, then I'm done. I guess its warranty time in this case.

I understand your warranty process, believe me, it was made very clear to me when I spoke with Fitbit representatives. My concern was that my Fitbit broke due to an update provided by Fitbit. It did not break due to normal wear and tear or by an accident of my doing. All I asked that Fitbit take responsibility for breaking people's devices and either repair or replace them.
If I have to spend money on a new fitness tracker it won't be with a company who sends out updates that breaks people's devices and expects them to replace them.
