Fitbit Update: 1/9/2020
Hey, Versa Smartwatches family!
I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the New Year. Before the holidays, we released this firmware out to 100%.
If you still don't see the update for Fitbit OS 4.1 (70.7.14) because it's brand new or perhaps was gifted to you for Christmas, please continue syncing the watch and make sure you have all-day sync turned on. You will soon after see the banner prompting you to update to this firmware.
Thanks for your patience and hope you continue enjoying this update!
Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30 minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations and if on, the always-on display on Versa 2 to preserve your battery life.
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa/Versa 2 can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, Versa 2 or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips. If you have any issues after completing the update, when in doubt, try a restart on the watch.
How to restart your watch:
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Why does not the Versa come to life?
One of my colleagues fitbit versa is showing this since past 10 to 12 days. When charged this does not show up and the screen is blank. Only after a long time after charging i.e 3 to 4 hours later we see this image. Has the versa already bricked and nothing can be done?.

Why Fitbit Support not replying these issues? What is the problem? Where is after sale Service? Why this update has too many issues? Why i am not getting synchronized smoothly as before? Why my battery getting drain too fast? Why You guys not replying to this issue?

I also get problems to synchronize versa 2 to my smartphone. I also noticed that if I swipe up from the clock to go to the information tile about steps etc... My versa 2 restarts automatically

This software release has created many problems for users. I called cust. Support and got no where extremely bad support. Top problems:
1. Watch does not recognize a new day has started after midnight. So no update to stats etc.
2. Battery is severly drained by 35% the next day even when you shut the watch completely down.
3. Have to push all 3 buttons together to get watch turned on now.
Please get a software correction out asap you have many unhappy customers.

Why wont the fitbit moderators admit that there is a problem with the software upgrade. The actual software itself is fine It is the upgrade process is that is breaking all of the versas. How do I know this. Because only a factory reset will fix the problems created by the update.
Also, why don't the support people suggest this rather then rushing to try to sell a new versa for those out of warranty at a phony discount. There are many sources to purchase a new versa 2 for less then the offer from fitbit. Of course, why would anyone buy a new one with such shoddy treatment from fitbit. Do any moderators care to comment on this.

After reading all the posts on this thread and various other threads, this update is not worth me installing on my Versa. I was hesitant doing the 32.68.9.15 version but took the chance a couple of weeks after it was rolled it. With this version, the issues reported are major bugs in this firmware. None of the enhancements are that important for me to have the multitude of issues reported happen to my Versa.
Per the conversation I had with Fitibit Support via Twitter yesterday afternoon, they acknowledge that there are issues due to the various reports from users but didn't offer any information regarding if a patch would be in place to correct these issues or if another firmware version was in the works to correct these bugs.
Like many other users have voiced, was this firmware tested to ensure there weren't any harmful bugs?

I was able to sync mine finally, after yet another factory reset.
Now it won’t sync again.
Beyond frustrating. If I wanted just a digital watch, I’d have bought one. The Versa can’t do half of what Fitbit advertises. I shouldn’t have to do a factory reset every time I want to sync it.

My versa 2 also randomly restarts many times per day. I get update near week ago. Already tried factory resetting, rebooting phone and watch, change watchface, all steps. It just keeps restarting, even when i sleep, i feel like vibration some times, it means it was rebooted.
My wife has versa classic with update, and all fine with her watch. What i should do?

Thank you, I did factory reset FFitBit tracker after updating to 70.7.14 and my BPM Heart Rate is now working after my failed attempts with my sleep chart
Now the Sleep Chart tile is not found on my current Fitbit Today app device.
How do I locate it and turn on Sleep Chart tile on my Device
Thank You

I got my Versa 2 today.. and just like my original versa.. Versa 2 updated flawlessly.
tested... waterproof.. OK
Tested.. notification OK
Screen works well and is really nice.
Worked way better then when i got my original versa 1 1/1 year ago.
Now hopefully the screen is stronger then the old versa. I still put a screen protector on it though and yes.. the charger sucks.. already ordered a replacement
but overall so far.. really happy

Completely unable to get the Versa 2 to factory reset, following all the instructions. Only the low battery if it's dead, or the on-off of the Fitbit logo before that.
I bought it from Amazon recently, so I eventually gave up and returned it. Back to the Timex for now... 😞

Yes, I have tried the steps multiple times and have talked to customer service. It was working for a couple days but now I am back to my Versa being completely dead. It was charged at 97% this morning died this evening.

Check to your sync settings on the Fitbit App on your phone. If it's set to "all day sync" it will rapid battery drain. This often happens with a firmware update .

I have a similar situation like yours. The Fitbit support kept asking me to do try several things - but i know it is the firmware. Just wish they would own up and issue a patch before I give up my Versa!

If you have a first gen versa, you now have to use left button and lower right button simultaneously to turn it on! You’d think they would’ve told us that...

What I think is happening it that the watch isn't shutting down properly when it's turned off, which is why the battery still drains. It then can't be turned back on with a single press of the left button as it isn't turned off. Pressing and holding left and right lower button reboots it.

They really need to fix the battery drainage issue. It's a pain to go from having a battery lasting four days to one that can barely make it for a few hours
