Fitbit Update: 1/9/2020
Hey, Versa Smartwatches family!
I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the New Year. Before the holidays, we released this firmware out to 100%.
If you still don't see the update for Fitbit OS 4.1 (70.7.14) because it's brand new or perhaps was gifted to you for Christmas, please continue syncing the watch and make sure you have all-day sync turned on. You will soon after see the banner prompting you to update to this firmware.
Thanks for your patience and hope you continue enjoying this update!
Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30 minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations and if on, the always-on display on Versa 2 to preserve your battery life.
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa/Versa 2 can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, Versa 2 or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips. If you have any issues after completing the update, when in doubt, try a restart on the watch.
How to restart your watch:
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

You're welcome. I'm not sure since I'm in the US. Maybe contact Fitbit UK support to assist you. I hope you get it sorted it since yours is a brand new device. I have the original Versa so I haven't done nor will I do this firmware update and risk my functioning Versa.
No more Fitbit for me after this fiasco and with the lack of accountability Fitbit support has displayed to the users that have had issues with both the firmware and mobile app updates. Users asked for this firmware to be pulled until the bugs could be corrected and Fitbit turned a deaf ear and more and more users are still reporting issues more than 30 days after. Fitbit would rather issue enhanced updates then test the updates thoroughly before making them available. This has been happening all of last year with both the mobile app and firmware updates but this firmware has been the worst.

And now I can't even see the screen on my Versa. It's vibrating and shows it's on with the app but it's not showing a screen on the watch. 😡

After my chat with them and emails there was no discussion about a replacement. I got a " Thank you for your patience while we try to resolve this issue"

Exactly the same and tried all troubleshooting and nothing worked I’ve read that Fitbit is not honoring warranties and issues like that

Hello,
so I did the update and had some issues:
when I turn my Versa OFF when I go to sleep it drains most of the battery or all and the time is not correct - this didn't happen before and I had a very positive experience with my Versa.
I reported this and Fitbit is sending me a replacement. I bought my Versa in Novembr 2018 and 50% on a new one made no sense to me.
I'm now waiting for my replacement to get here to see if I can maintain my positive experience.
Thank you,
Daniela

Does this bug affect Versa or Versa 2? My Versa 2 is on firmware 35.70.7.14 and everything is working fine. 5 day battery life and it syncs with the Samsung S10 perfectly.

I had the exact same issue. Tried restarting it multiple times and it never started working again. I went through support and they tried to have me do a factory reset but you can't really do it without use of the screen. They finally sent me a "new" one. It looks refurbished and I'm honestly scared to try it out, thinking it will mess up again. Going to keep whatever firmware is already on it and hold off on updating until I can confirm a new release has fixed it.
It's disappointing. I've been getting fitbits for years and this is my first terrible experience. I hope this doesn't become the norm.

Hi
So I upgraded my Versa and have experienced battery drain issues ever since.
I have tried all the troubleshooting as per the support pages and have basically removed all "extra" features but still my Versa doesn't last the whole day. The watch is just a week over 1 year. In the past the battery has lasted 4 or more days.
A second "feature" experienced as a result of the update is that once the tracker is powered off the battery drains faster. I did this overnight to save the battery and the battery percentage dropped from 80% to 16% while switched off over a 7 hour period.

I went from not receiving vibrating text notifications to not receiving text notifications AT ALL.
Does anyone have any recommendations for actual smart watches for Android or something similar to fitness device that actually does what its supposed to? Tired of Fitbit lack of customer service and not prioritizing device issues they've caused.
Thank you!

Last time my Versa died I charged it and the screen won't come back on. It was on, but no screen. Tried everything. Even tried deleting it from the app, so now I can't reload it because the screen still won't come back on. Called Fitbit and they won't do a dang thing because I had a replacement once 5 months ago because water got inside of it. They are worthless. I told the girl I'll never own another one. They don't care that these problems are their fault. She also told me that the majority of the people who did the update haven't had any problems with it 🤣. Can't wait until I can afford something else and can say goodbye forever to this worthless company!

I updated on December 28/2019 initially my only problem was the weight an water not logging properly when entered from the watch. I posted about this and received no response. Now as of this morning I am not even getting notifications! This is a serious issue that is affecting hundreds of people FitBit needs to step up and start addressing these issues. If there is no quick answer then FitBit needs to do a rollback on the update. The Versa is not functioning like it was designed and this has gone on long enough!
