Update: This has now released to 100%

We’re excited to announce that a firmware update for Versa, Versa 2, and Versa Lite will be available soon!  Some of you may already have this update available - if you installed it, let us know what you think!

If you don’t see the update yet, that’s expected. Check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We expect everyone to receive the update in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

Did you know that we gradually release our updates? We do this to make sure everything is working just right for you. Sometimes we find an issue and it might take a little longer than expected for everyone to get the update. While you might see suggestions on how to “force” an update, we ask that you don’t try any of these workarounds. Most of the time the update won’t be available and you can lose data or encounter other difficulties. The best way to get the update is to be patient and wait for the update banner to appear in the Fitbit app.

Fitbit Update 08/30/2021

Hi everyone! First off, I wanted to thank you all for your participation in this thread. Secondly, since the majority of Versa, Versa Lite and Versa 2 members have reported successfully updating to Fitbit OS 4.2.2 Firmware Update (32.72.1.15), I am closing this thread. If you still have not updated your watch to OS 4.2.2, check out this post for some best practices on how to update your device.

If you are experiencing an issue with your watch unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the community or find a related topic. You can always get in touch with our Support team via chat or phone if you need further assistance.

Thanks again for all the great feedback we have received on this release.

Never mind.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I had the pink banner and clicked it and followed the prompts. Even though battery was > 50% I connected it to charger for update. When I came back I had a message that update failed due to something to do with WiFi and a prompt asked if I wanted to do it with Bluetooth so I clicked that button and things just went back to normal. The pink update screen won’t come back. Version is still 35.72.1.15. I can not see anyplace to check OS version #.

I updated tonight and now wish I hadn’t. Deleted all active minutes. I had approximately 120 of active minutes today. Played tennis and walked the dog. I now shows zero active minutes. When I pull up the heart rate levels, I would have been in fat burn and cardio during both tennis and the walk. Like I said the minutes were there, do the upgrade, and poof all active minutes are gone. And not just from today, but ALL active minutes. Really frustrating for something that claims to be a fitness tracker!

The update went surprisingly smooth and super fast! Well done Fitbit!  👍

N.B. My iPhone XS MAX runs iOS15 beta 3. Versa Lite firmware has been updated from ver. 38.72.1.9 to 38.72.1.15 IMG_0547.JPGIMG_0544 (1).JPG

Again!!! I just updated the Versa 2 watch, not the app, and all my data is gone now. AGAIN!!!

This is the 2nd Versa 2 I have returned in a month.

Thanks to the updates to the watch.

In the screenshots and images are what happened when I updated today, July 21st 2021, 3pm MNT.

Now I see that the update is trying to add a new section of information, Active Zone Minutes.
Which wasn't there prior to the update.

Now I have to return and exchange the watch for the 3rd time.
The last 2 times it took days to get no results.
😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Hi

I had to downgrade to 4G network both to iPhone and Versa 2 while updating and succeeded

I did an update on Monday and now the battery won’t hold it’s charge.  I contacted customer support and they advised I get a new Versa 2. I did purchase a new one, but now I’m thinking I shouldn’t have since there wasn’t an issue with my Fitbit until the pushed out update.

This update killed my Versa 2. It's now a paperweight. It was working fine before. Their solution is for me to buy a new one. There's no way I'd purchase another Fitbit product after this nonsense.

Soooo I should use my data instead of my wifi?

Was that the issue I was having? 🤷‍:male_sign:🤦‍:male_sign:

I updated mine and almost immediately my heart rate monitor began to give me massively lower numbers across the board. It's almost impossible for me to get a reading in the cardio zone right now when my workouts were regularly getting me to 150-165 bpm. Even my resting calorie burn has crashed (though of course my resting heart rate has barely gone down despite my watch showing me a waking heart rate close to 10 bpm lower than resting). This is an incredibly frustrating update though looking at some of the responses here I should at least be thankful it didn't completely brick my Versa 2.

I really can not tell if my device updated to the new OS or not. In light of others’ reports it probably did not….since it is still working normally. No one has told me how to find the OS update version #.

heart rate sensor does not work anymore after update.. its fine for some few minutes after restarting my versa 2 but then it stops again.. it has also problems with the sleep monitoring after updating.

Has the update messed with your heart rate readings while exercising? I updated back in January & have noticed a big drop in bpm compared to what it was. I was hoping this latest update would resolve those issues?!

I havent actually received a notification yet to update, but the whole experience has been a shambles!

Sorry this was a bit misleading: First I tried the update in 5.0 ghz wifi but after I changed to 2,4 ghz wifi I succeeded

Just as a couple of others have said on here, this update killed my Fitbit. It was working completely fine until this update on Wednesday evening. I've only had this Fitbit for just over a year. If customer service tells me to buy a new Fitbit like the other customers have said, I'm gonna rage. That's ridiculous. Give us a new Fitbit or fix our current ones!

Yeah, your update killed my Versa 2 as well 😑

Thank you for the good customer service and out of warranty replacement offer.
I'm really happy to see a big company own it's mistakes and remedy them, thank you.

I know how you can view the watch OS on the Fitbit app.

Go to your Fitbit app...

...click on your profile, upper left

...scroll down to " Help and Support "

...and your watch OS will show right at the top

Hope that helps.

Yes, I have noticed a colossal drop in resting and active BPM. Normally I only need a few minutes of warm-up to get into the cardio zone for a weights workout, with regular high-intensity movements like jumping jacks and running in place to maintain my heart rate between sets, but since the update it has been an absolutely grueling task to get my heart rate even above 120 when before my average workout bpm was above 150. I noticed a similar dip with the January update but it was minor compared to this and seemed to sort itself out after a few days but so far this update has been the worst I've ever had across multiple Fitbit devices. It's also draining my battery at 2-3x the normal rate of consumption.

If that is the OS version number then I still have 3.43.1(1057).
