Really disappointed. I bought the Versa, which I really like, however, I was going by the features listed on the main page and was led to believe that the Fitbit pay came on both versions...
(Payments
With a built-in NFC chip, you can use your credit and debit cards on-the-go, anywhere that accepts contactless payments. Available only on special editions.)
so I went with the standard only to find out that it does NOT come with it. Now... I'm being told that I either have to order the new one (which is going to be at least $230+ S/H) or wait a week for my current one to be sent in, then ANOTHER week or so for the money to be refunded to me. And then ANOTHER week before I get my new one with the Fitbit Pay enabled. There's no way for me to just return the current one I have, and pay the difference to get the new "special edition" sooner. If this is had been made a bit clearer when I had asked the rep before buying, I would have bought it to begin with. I've been a reliable customer for YEARS, I've bought several Fitbit's for myself and my family... but right now I'm considering just returning it and going with a different product all together....

It clearly says "Available only on special editions." I see nothing confusing on the Fitbit website. What rep are you referring to? One on this website? Did you tell them you wanted to use contactless payments?

I bought the Fitbit Versa special edition for the "contactless payment" BUT I am with Lloyds, it seems the fit-payment ONLY works with Santander! Useless! And THAT is misleading....

@kay_jenna: You can definitely be frustrated or sad that your bank is not supported (just like me) but there is nothing misleading about it! Fitbit has a clear and constantly updated list of supported countries and banks on their web.

Totally agree - I bought my Versa in April, was so excited about the pay feature! Discovered too late it's not on my watch. Very poor and misleading marketing - I bought mine the day it came out, pre-ordered it in fact. Would not have done it if I had known. If the company won't make good on this poor description/marketing and replace our watch free of charge as early adopters, guess it says a lot about the company.

I think that its a **ahem** dumb idea to not have it included in both models worldwide, since all of the other SE Fitbit has ever made that I can recall were always about the bands accessories, and never about actual function of the tracker. Fitbit seems to be always a few steps behind in the game, and even though they have awesome products, I've seen the at lot of us users debate about trying to stay faithful of the company or opting for brands that have similar price but better features. And that doesn't go only with the trackers, but also with Aria scale. A bunch of basic brands have reliable smart scales that offer way more information than Aria but WAY cheaper. And now Fitbit comes with this bs asking me for 30 more dollars for a chip that many watches have now, I don't want to pay 30 dollars more for a chip and a few bands that I don't want, and now I know that in EU they pay the same price for the basics with the NFC chip, it makes no sense. If the user don't want use the NFC, just turn it off, like you do with your phone and go on with your day. I guess I'll have to wait a few months until someone I know goes to EU and get me a basic one with NFC for cheaper...

FitBit is very guilty of advertising functionality without explaining that 95% of people in the UIK cannot use it.
Fitbit pay has a list of banks that you can use and has just 1 bank from the top 12 banks in the UK, at no time does fitbit make this clear and you you can go seaching for the fine print and finally find the list of banks supported but this should be stated on the advert that 11/12 of the top banks are not supported as they imply that theres no issue by not even mentioning the problem.
Same issue with supported phones, I have used a Fitbit Charge 2 for ages and its great, upgraded to Versa and told phone is not supported !!
