Fitbit Versa 2 battery draining in hours. How I spent my day documenting this problem.

I am one of the people who have had an issue with their Fitbit Versa 2 battery draining over the span of a couple of hours.  As most of the other people have reported, their Fitbit was working fine on Thursday.  By Friday, many of us noticed that there were problems.  Yesterday, I had to charge my Versa 2 four different times, and it still didn’t have enough juice to make it through the night.  I woke up on Sunday, May 2, 2021at 1:45 A.M. to a completely dead Fitbit.  I put it on the charger and set my alarm for 2 hours.  At that time, my fitbit registered that it was fully charged (100%).  Here is a breakdown of just how much my battery drained over a period of 6 hours.  By my calculations, the battery lost 84% of its charge in six hours.

Date       Time         % Charge Remaining
5/2/2021 3:45 A.M. 100%
5/2/2021 3:57 A.M. 97%
5/2/2021 7:50 A.M. 37%
5/2/2021 8:10 A.M. 34%
5/2/2021 8:15 A.M. 33%
5/2/2021 8:31 A.M. 30%
5/2/2021 8:51 A.M. 28%
5/2/2021 8:56 A.M. 27%
5/2/2021 9:05 A.M. 25%
5/2/2021 9:18 A.M. 21%
5/2/2021 9:21 A.M. 20%
5/2/2021 9:27 A.M. 19%
5/2/2021 9:43 A.M. 17%
5/2/2021 9:45 A.M. 16%
5/2/2021 9:45 A.M. put on charger

This isn’t right!  I haven’t changed any of my settings or clock faces in months.  I also haven’t played any of the music loaded on my watch for about a year.  Everything on my end has been the same for quite some time.  I have only had this Versa 2 for about 18 months.  It baffles me that a $200.00 watch is so disposable.  Honestly, I can’t afford to buy a Fitbit every year.  It seems strange that so many people are having an identical problem, but Fitbit is being strangely silent about the issue.  I will continue to track of my battery drainage issues, and post them to this forum.

Agree, that Fitbit is strangely quiet about the issue. After the update my heartrate monitor stopped working and I was having to charge it more often. Customer Support walked me through the reset process. It didn't help. In fact, it made it worse. I was having to recharge every couple hours then it died all together on April 27th. It's less than 2 years old and all Fitbit offered was a 35% discount on FULL RETAIL  price. They won't even let me apply the discount to the current sale price. No one expects to replace a $200 watch every year or so. Fitbit needs to address this issue more appropriately and more fairly. So disappointed.

Yeah, I had two Fitbit oldies die shortly after a year. That soured me on Fitbit for quite a while. They weren’t as expensive as my Versa 2, but when you consider that all they were doing at the time was counting steps.....it was expensive because you could pick up a pedometer for about $20.

I had heart surgery 4 years ago and bought a Charge 2 to keep track of my heart rate. The Charge 2 is still going strong, I use it when I charge the Versa 2 and if I am going some place that I don’t want to wear an oversized watch.

I bought a 3 year square trade warranty for the Versa 2. It will be interesting to see what happens if Fitbit doesn’t resolve this battery issue and I try to make a claim for it. I think that it stinks to have to disable features that I use, just to keep a decent charge. I will probably look elsewhere when I have to buy a replacement watch. I would really like to have an Apple Watch, but I use android phones, and the watch doesn’t connect with an iPad.

I don’t mind paying for a good watch, but I want it to last. The thing that sucks is that I really like this watch, and the Fitbit community. The main problem with Fitbit is Fitbit.

I am experiencing the exact same thing, restarted my watch and reverted the clock screen from a newer SpO2 Fitbit version to a previous Fitbit version. It has not changed a thing. 100% battery at 7:00 a.m., 3% battery at 1:45 p.m.

I changed from the sp02 to a completely different watch face and it’s fixed my issues- charged yesterday and have had my Bluetooth on since- down to 71% so it’s much improved.
