Fitbit Versa 2 bug - heart rate monitor LED cannot be turned off

On Fitbit Versa 2, the green LED on the back of the device is still pulsating, even if heart rate monitor is turned off. This must be due to a bug on the device. Have a look at this Youtube video which shows the issue: https://youtu.be/D2JbnEPWlEk

When heart rate monitor is turned off, the green LED should also be turned off. Fitbit users don't want to be bothered by the green LED during the night. Fitbit users don't want the extra battery drain due to the unnecessary pulsating LED. Fitbit users want to be sure that Fitbit doesn't collect their heart rate information without their consent.

Fitbit, please fix this.

By the way, the Fitbit Versa 2 on the video is running the latest firmware, 35.70.7.21.

Fitbit don't see this as a bug as it's working as expected. They say:

"Note that the LEDs continue to flash if you turn off heart-rate tracking."

There has been speculation in the forums that the light is also used to detect whether the device is on or off the wrist which could explain the strange behaviour.
