My versa 2 is not tracking the correct distance. I walk with a group and all their watches have the same amount of mileage but mine is always way behind Eben though we walk the same distance.???

@dfbuser1956 , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message.

The distance is measured by multiplying your amount of steps with your stride length.

Please make sure that you input your personal data correctly ( high, age, gender, etc)

Also try to input your own stride length. How to can be found here:

My fitbit Versa 2 has seemed off lately, and my walking pace has slowed. When I measure the distance I walked the Versa 2 distance is now consistently 15% (sometimes 18% sometimes 13%, so going with 15%) lower than the actual distance. Which tracks with how much slower my fitbit says my pace is, even though it just thinks I am walking shorter distances in the same time. This started a few months ago.

Do you use GPS while recording your activities?

Hello there,

my versa too also recently started to not count steps correctly. For example my friend would be 5000 steps and I’ll be 3750 when we walk same time, it just makes no sense!
also the following calculation makes zero sense: 10073 steps for it calculated as 6.78 km

10205– 5.04 km

10020– 6.9 km

10165–6.91 km

10092– 5.68km

Can please explain how is it possible?

@KsLki , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and information.

Depending on the activity recorded, your Versa 2 will use either the stride length for running or for walking. The length my vary depending if you are running or walking.

And the distance is measured (Stride length  x amount of steps.)

That is why we recommend to input your own stride length, as advised on my previous post.

I do have GPS on and permissions allowed. However, as I look back through how my walks have been tracked, it looks like the GPS has not been actually registering since early March. But when I check the settings, it should be.
