Fitbit Versa 2 locked and can't unlock with phone as it's no longer paired

Hi,

DESPERATE for assistance please.

My Fitbit versa 2 is locked and says "unlock with phone", however I stupidly removed the device from my Fitbit account and now realised I shouldn't have as I can't re pair it as I need to be able to see the 4 digit pairing code on the screen which won't display because of the lock.

Can someone please help!

I'll be eternally grateful.

Have tried all the usual things including:

- Resetting watch my holding down button for 10 seconds

- Turning Bluetooth on and off (Bluetooth is working find and picks it up)

- Uninstalling and reinstalling Fitbit app- Trying web version

Basically, I need a way to unlock a Fitbit versa 2 WITHOUT a phone!

Why do people remove a locked tracker from their Fitbit account when they are told to unlock with the phone which can take as little as 15 seconds to unlock through the Fitbit app?

Why do users not set the pin for Fitbit pay only?

We now have to do a factory reset

Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.

When the Fitbit logo disappears:

Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).

Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates the factory reset.

It’s the first Fitbit I have set up so that is perhaps why I have done the things you have said “People” shouldn’t do?!

Where is the back button?

Did you manage to sort this issue out? I am in the same boat!

The back button is the button on the left side of the watch @Ab1e

I'm not sure which boat your in?

If the watch is still connected to your Fitbit account, then open the Fitbit app up and choose another pin code.

See the Fitbit help, link to help found below and search for lock.

Here is the link you want.

How do I unlock my Fitbit device with my phone?

If the watch has been removed, you will not be able to unlock with phone.

If you have a versa lite or a versa 2 follow the directions I posted above.

I have removed my Fitbit and now it is not allowing me to even add a new device (My Fitbit)

Can you help?

Many thanks,

I have removed my watch and it is not letting me now add my Fitbit (Versa2)

On my phone screen it asks to “Enter the pin on my Fitbit screen” but the Fitbit says “Unlock with phone”

Are you able to help?

Sure @Ab1e which Fitbit? If you have a Versa lite or a Versa 2, see my post above. If you have a different tracker, please let me know.

By removing instead of a 30 second fix we need to do a factory reset.

I have tried both actions on the post and it is not letting me add my Versa 2.

i am unable to find or able to do a Factory reset?

Best Answer

@Ab1e simply scroll towards the top of the page, where as I have pointed out in my last 3 posts, you will find instructions on doing a factory reset to the Versa 2. The best thing to do is to not remove the tracker from the phone, when the tracker is telling the user to unlock with phone.

I have followed all steps and it is still not working.

I have removed my Fitbit, tried a factory reset and it is still not working!!!

The only thing left is to contact Fitbit.

If the tracker wasn't removed from the Fitbit account, it is a simply 30 second procedure to unlock with phone.

Actually you dont I have been trying to reset the pin for 3 days and it never connected back with the phone that's what makes some of us remove it from the account but thank you so very much for you criticism

Best Answer

@HowlerHottie you don't what?

I have purposely caused my tracker to get into this locked state and it took less than 30 seconds to unlock.

When the tracker says to use the phone, removing the tracker from the account will prohibit this possibility.

The hardware factory reset mentioned above may be done without removing the tracker from the account. This will now be your only option.

BTW: if the user sets the pin lock for Fitbit pay only, t is is less likely to happen.

The thing is, if you have knowledge and want to help and share cool if not don't be mean. I didn't lock mine my 8 year old son did when I took it off to wash dishes. The app never worked for me 3 days went by just trying to get the tracker to respond to the app and it wouldn't connect so things happen by not the way you play them at all. It took 3 days of me trying to get it unlock through the app that I decided to try and repair it and with no success so I took it off the app. But we are here to help each other not tear each other down. So help those who make mistakes or just don't comment!! Either way we will figure it out and your info was helpful so up to you on who you choose to be.

I did not think it would be necessary to repeat. On February 24 I posted Step by Step instructions spelled out above in the best answer

The app never worked because of an unrelated sync or connection error

If your Versa 2 is still connected to your Fitbit account

Log into your Fitbit account through any phone.

Then simply change the pin  through the app. It should take less than 30 seconds.

If the Versa 2 has been removed from your account, please see the accepted solution above.
