Fitbit Versa 2 not tracking sleeping heart rate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello! I’ve had this Fitbit for a few days and upgraded to fitbit premium, but I’ve noticed that when I go to sleep it stops tracking my heart rate. When I’m awake the HR tracks fine, and it tracks my sleep properly as well, but the graph for my sleeping heart rate isn’t working properly. It has the dotted line for my resting HR, and one small dash for my HR right at the beginning of the night, and then no more data. Has this happened to anyone else?

Strangely it did fix mine and even showed the graphs with the heart rate that hasn’t previously been showing since it all went wrong. I did the firmware update followed by the app update and fingers crossed it’s been perfect since then 👍

Versa Lite here doing the same things for weeks.  A couple weeks ago I saw something in community chat that they were aware and working on it so I've waited.  Like many here, I've had a random day here and there where it worked and was gone.  Just checking now, between the recent update, (which I had hoped would fix it), and update to my Apple phone, now all past graphs that were showing are now also blank.  Not too happy here.  This is one of the features I pay for Premium to have.

Hi Melody,

ive dome both updates as well and I still have no sleeping heart rate graph. Worked once or twice between updates and gone again. I thought there was a link between having my phone on wifi or not and/or keeping the app open at bedtime but nothing works. Factory reset is a pain in the rear to do every time th e graph goes away and shouldn’t be necessary all the time. My free trial offer to premium is up this week and I will NOT be paying for i it going forward. Best of luck with yours.

I understand the frustration.  I have been ready to drop Premium as well.  Though I had done updates to my phone and FitBit, I had not tried restarting the device, (not factory reset).  It seemed to work. Not only are my sleeping heart rate graphs back, but they filled in all those that had been missing in the past.  Now to see if it lasts!  If that hadn't worked my daughter also said that sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling the FitBit app will correct an issue.  That would have been my next and last resort before discontinuing Premium.  Thank you for your reply.  It reminded me to share what worked for me in this instance.  I hope, perhaps it will help. In any case, I hope you find your FitBit helpful to keep active and healthy.

Hello again!

Since my initial post I didn’t really try any fix, I guess I just forgot about it. I did do the firmware update last week but did not check if that fixed the issue. Reading the last reply just now, I decided to go and see if it has been working and all of the sleeping heart rate graphs are visible, even the ones that were previously missing. I have no idea what fixed it but I guess it had to have been the update?

Uncanny but, as my FitBit is charging and almost fully charged, I updated the app again, updated firmware last week and while sitting here browsing my emails on my phone went back to check the graphs again. Guess what...same thing happened to me! Graphs are back including past ones that were missing. Like you said “let’s see if it lasts now”. I LIKE the premier, I just get so frustrated. Thank you for clarifying certain updates and procedures to try. Enjoy your FitBit! Thanks again!
