Fitbit Versa 2 won't sync with my iPhone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I put my Versa 2 on the charger today, it is the first time since I received it and charged it the first time. Now put it on and it will not sync with my iPhone.  Anybody got any suggestions for me?

Hi @Nancy067 , do you have the latest version of the Fitbit app on your phone. If not, update it and restart your phone. If yes, try the following:

1. On your phone quit the Fitbit app and deinstall it.

2. Do not unpair or remove your Versa from the Fitbit app

3. Restart your phone

4. Reinstall Fitbit without enabling BT

5. Press within Fitbit syncing

6. Your Fitbit app will say that it cannot sync because BT is disabled and if it should enable BT

7. Press yes and Fitbit will start searching for BT enabled devices

8. After a short time you will see a list of BT enabled devices within the Fitbit app and the Versa should be in that list.

9. If yes, press ready and sync your Fitbit app with your Versa and you should be up and running.

Good luck and regards, kuzibri

I would just like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved after following the troubleshooting steps that shared @SunsetRunner.

As a side note, please let me know what is your iPhone's model.

Hi Nancy! I was having terrible trouble with mine for the first few days. I was following all the general troubleshooting as already described and nothing worked. I was having to re-setup my tracker every morning. I have figured out the problem- I have a dual band router; my phone and Versa 2 were connecting to the two different bands (phone connects to 5GHz and Versa 2 to 2.4GHz). IF this is your situation, you may be able to force your phone to only connect to the 2.4GHz signal, or go into your Versa 2 settings and forget the WiFi network. You can add it back when you need to do updates or install apps, but this is far less frustrating than having to set up your entire tracker every morning like I was having to do. I hope this helps if you are having the same problem!

Hi

I have Stopped and restarted: iPhone, iPhone Bluetooth, iPhone fitbit software

I did not do step 1, shown above, since I do not know how to de-install software on my iPhone. And the posting does not specify.

@FidlStyx, I'm sorry for the late response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I also appreciate the time spent trying the troubleshooting steps that were shared above.

Please try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article contains steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest. Regarding the step 1 that was shared advised above, please omit it since the Fitbit app can just be updated without the need to de-install it. You can find the steps in the article to do so.

Finally, monitor your watch and see if it syncs with your phone properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

This might represent a different opinion on this but I think it might be helpful. I purchased a Fitbit Versa in 11/18. At that time I had an iPhone 5se. My Versa synced seamlessly with my phone and I received all of my calls and texts on my watch. When I purchased the iPhone 10 in 11/19, I no longer received texts and call notifications on my watch. I have spent countless hours online with Fitbit and in an Apple store with knowledgeable technicians and I have finally been told that the Versa DOES NOT sync with the iPhone 10 (and never will) because the iPhone 10 changed its operating system and therefore does not sync with a Versa which has a different OS. I was considering purchasing a Versa 2 but it sounds like it has the same problem as the Versa.

When I purchased an iPhone 10 last fall, suddenly I was no longer receiving
notifications on my watch - calls, text messages. Previously I had a iPhone
5SE and never had problems receiving notifications. I spent HOURS on the
phone with Fit Bit trying to resolve this problem. Nothing they suggested
worked. I also spent HOURS in a Apple store trying to resolve it from their
end. I was told by Apple that the operating system of the FitBit was not
compatible with more recent versions of the iPhone. I gave up. Then, one
day, miraculously, I felt my wrist vibrate and I was receiving
notifications again. This occurred about 3 months after I started having
the problem. I do not know what changed.

Hi, I was also facing the same isssue and then after trying several methos now it is working:

here a few important and number of other ways are that can help to fix your watch:

  • Restart your Fitbit Versa 2 and iPhone
  • Update Fitbit Versa and your iPhone
  • Update the Fitbit Connect app
  • these were helpful for me and if one of them not working you can read more from the above link.
