I’m generally happy with Fitbit and was pleased with the customer service until today. I went into the pool today to track my swimming, however, it immediately malfunctioned. This is false advertisement of Fitbit. This device cannot track swimming and should not be put into the water. I asked for a refund of some
sort and they offered a 35% discount even though I paid 100% of the product. Just warning everyone: don’t listen to the fade advertisement and just use it for step
tracking.

I'm sorry your not having a good experience with your Fitbit. I've had small issues with losing connections for locations due to the fact that my phone will not connect to the Tower by my job, but waterproofing I have swam and taking multiple shower and I also have a warranty that is guaranteed to give me 100% replacing so anytime you get anything like this you want to do that sweetheart okay. Don't give up.. there great 😁💪🏾

As far as I know, the watch is water resistant and not water proof. There is a difference between the two.
If I am wrong, please forgive me.
However; there is no reason Fitbit will only give you a 35% refund. WTH?

This exact thing happened to me. Not sure what to do because i accepted the discount but now im wondering if that is an unfair solution. If customers are risking their fitbit completely breaking after swimming that should be a known possibility that the person decides to risk. I used my versa 3 for swimming several times thinking nothing of it and then suddenly one day it wouldnt turn back on after the pool

I must be crazy but I have had 4 versa 2 and every one died the exact same way after six months. They get wet and die. I’m getting a new one under warranty. But I will not buy another one. I need a device that is truly waterproof.

I'm sorry about that "water-proof" issue. But "water-proof" and "water-resistant" are definitely different. I'm not sure what fitbit claims, but the really need to explain the difference. Sounds to me like these fitbits are really water-resistant and not water-proof.

Exactly the same issue this week and also offered a 35% discount. The watches aren’t able to do what they sell them as. Won’t buy another as would be the same problem.

I have the exact same issue.
Used it for swimming a couple of weeks ago and the screen went blank.
How do I contact Fitbit for a refund or replacement?

Managed to contact Fitbit customer support.
The customer service officer kept sending me links on how to conserve battery life until they saw my versa sync history (battery life dropped from 100% to 5% within 1 hour).
Finally they acknowledged it’s a hardware issue but only offered a 35% discount for next purchase. I guess it’s time to try other brands that are really waterproof.

Same happened to me today. Used it for 5 mins in swimming pool, has now completely died. So disappointing as checked before use I could track swim and was told yes. Won't be buying another Fitbit.

Had same experience. Never tried to use it on water but last week I fell in a 4ft pool and it was enough to kill my watch. Called customer service and they only offer me 35% discount on new one as my watch is out of warranty. The warranty has nothing to do with the fact that they advertised it as water resistant when it's not true. So disappointing and truly false advertisement!!
