Fitbit Versa Black screen and will not charge

I have had my fitbit versa for just over a year and haven't had any problems until now.

I put my versa on charge overnight and by morning it hadnt charged at all and just had a black screen. I did a reset and then it was fine and within an hour or so was showing about 60% charge and as i was running late for work i decided that would do for now. My watch was also showing the wrong time but soon rectified itself.

At lunch time today i went swimming and set my versa to swim mode to track my lengths but by the end of my swim my screen was black. I presumed my battery had possibly depleted and on return home i put it on to charge.

A few hours later i checked to see if it had charged and it was still a black screen. I have tried cleaning, reset and hard reset multiple times with no response at all. Could it possibly be the charging dock or is my beloved fitbit dead?

Any ideas anyone?
