Let me start by saying I absolutely love my fitbit versa as its a great happy medium between a regular watch and a smartwatch. However I charged my fitibit versa the other day overnight like I always do, the next morning when I took it off the charger I noticed it was very hot, then it wouldnt turn on at all. I've filed a claim with fitbit and they are happy to send me a replacement however I have the same warranty on the replacement from the original purchase date, so if this one breaks after 6 months (when my year from original purchase will be over) then I have spent over $200 on a product and am just out of luck with no support. I have researched this on the internet and others have had the same problem and their replacement has also broken after 6 months and then they were left with nothing. Its very disappointing that this is a known problem and that fitbit doesnt stand by their products. Its also disappointing that at this point the only option they offer me is a replacement product and to cross my fingers the replacement doesnt break too 😞 Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

It is a pretty normal warantee condition for many products. The replacement is only covered until the original warantee period is up. You didnt pay for the replacement so the original conditions are in place.

Yes, went through the replacement process twice now with the Versa. We were extra careful with the versa, but the battery died in it, and wouldn't hold a charge - seems to be a common problem from what i see on here - so a replacement was sent. The replacement we got was refurbished, and had problems with the screen. It was unusable. Another one was sent. And it is also refurbished.
Two refurbished ones, and only 5 months into the one year warrenty. Since they are sending out other customer's rejects, their replacement policy hasn't cost them anything so far, and eventually my original warrenty will run out and they won't have to do anything.
I am not very happy with this.

I bought mine in July 2019, exactly 14 months later and 2 months out of warranty, started having battery drain. 18 months the heart rate tracker stopped working, now 24 months and the exact battery heating (burned my skin too) happened and it stopped working all together. Looked and saw the same thing happening all over the internet. In my opinion, this is a product that was either defectively designed, or simply poorly designed and all Fitbit cares about is that it breaks after the warranty expires. Sucks. I'll never buy another Fitbit. Probably will suck it up and get an Apple Watch
