Fitbit Versa Lite battery draining since update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since I updated my Fitbit last week, my battery is draining super fast. This morning 8 o'clock It was 100% loaded, right now 12 o'clock it has only . 56% left. While before the updated the battery lasted at least 3 days. Is this something due to the update? Or does it have another reason? And how do I solve this?

Also the touch screen isn't as responsive as it was before, i have to push harder before it reacts.

Thanks for helping me!

@AnkeStienen, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa's battery drains fast and the touch screen is not responding properly.

Please restart your Versa as described in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face.

Regarding the battery draining issue, please try the tips that are listed in this help article in order to improve the battery level of your watch.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I am having the same issue. Battery used to last about 4 days and overnight it started draining in one day. I have had it a little over 1 year. Seems like the issue is from the last update. Tired of the generic response from Fitbit to "try these battery saving tips" without any real solutions.  Shouldn't have to forgo using all the options I have previously used without issue to now needing not use anything in order to conserve battery life all of a sudden.

I have exactly the same issue; the battery of my versa lite lasted for up to 6 days sometimes and since I installed the update 2 weeks ago, it lasts 2 days or less. It even dies without warning sometimes. Is there a way to undo the update? My fitbit is only 7 months old and I was super happy with it, until now.

@JuanJoFitbit Thank you for your quick reply. I’ve done all the tips from the beginning; that’s how I got my versa lite to survive for up to 6 days without charging. I’m rather disappointed to get this answer since I clearly stated it’s only since the update that I have battery issues, and other people in this forum have told you the exact same thing. I hope fitbit can solve this in the next update at least, cause it’s obviously a software problem instead of a user’s one.

Same issue here. Seems since last update my battery goes from 50% to the teens overnight. I use the plain clock face (no third party), I do t have any music, I don’t use any of the apps. I basically charge it every night to make sure I have enough juice to get my workouts the next morning (unfortunately I didn’t last night and it died and now I’m not getting my 3,000+ steps from this morning). I’ve have been loyal Fitbit user from day one and if this continues, I may be switching. And yes, I’ve tried all the tips you suggest. Like I mentioned most don’t even apply to me since I do t use those features. I suggest fixing the software, get rid of all the bells and whistles that drain resources and focus on what really matters.

So Fitbit’s solution is to give me 35% discount on another product. Why would I spend more money on another device when my Versa is less than 18 months old? I’ll go back to my Flex 2 while I look at Garmin. Thanks for nothing after 7 years of customer loyalty!

Yes mine too, I haven't changed anything, but there must have been an update, now my battery drains in less than a day. Is this a plan by Fitbit to boost sales by degrading older products?

Its an Apple watch for me next time so this wont work! Fitbits only seem to last a small amount of time, I've had lots of problems with various different models.

Same issue, this morning my battery was dead. Since the update mine will not vibrate. This is so frustrating. I have tried every trick they give me and still having the same problem. They need to fix this, most certainly caused by the update.
