Fitbit Versa Lite is NOT water resistant

My daughter has had her FitBit Versa Lite for 13 months. It has stopped working, and all signs point to water damage. There is condensation evidence on the back by the heart rate sensor and the screen will not turn on even though the device syncs with the app, indicating it's charged and working. I chatted online with a very professional customer service rep who tried to help. In the end, the product has NOT lived up to its water resistance. And the warranty ran out a month ago. During the last 4 months of being home, the only water the watch has been around is a 3' backyard pool, and my daughter does not always wear it when in there.

This is so disappointing. I will likely not buy another Fitbit product. There are numerous other forum topics mentioning water damage as well. I hope Fitbit will reevaluate this problem and consider compensating victims of their false advertising.
