I've been happy with my Fitbit Versa Special Edition until today. I have always been cautious with my tracker and I make sure it's cleaned and charged to maintain it. Today I decided to get it wet for the first time in nearly 2 years. It says on the back it is water-resistant 50 meters. It even has a swim tracking mode. I had it underwater for like 5 mintues in very shallow water (this was fun swimming not a long workout or dive that could potentially get water in it) and about an hour afterward my fitbit screen was now blank, it was unresponsive, didn't vibrate or light up past a dim black screen when on a charger and has some water condensation on the sensor inside that I can't get. I'm very frustrated because it's supposed to be water resistant and now my $200 tracker is toast from one swim it was supposed to be able to handle. It's been drying for a couple hours more and still won't come back on.

EDIT: I just put my versa in the charger again and when I took it out the face/screen of my watch came off and leaked water on to me so obviously water got INSIDE the watch!!!!! There was no force applied and I wasn't trying to look or get the screen off at all! Why did my screen fall off? I didn't even know it wasn't screwed in or something.

Put watch in a bag of uncooked rice. It worked for my phone

I have had the same issue with my Versa, I contacted Fitbit help and was told it cannot be replaced as it is out of warranty and since they do not do repairs either - I was told to recycle it. It bothers me as I have used my Fitbit for nearly 2 years without any problem until I went for a swim!
