Fitbit Versa Syncs ok but does not deliver email or text messages from iPhone 8

My Fitbit Versa syncs just fine with my iPhone 8 but will not display email messages or SMS text.

Hi, on the Fitbit Dashboard, press the watch icon on top of the screen on the right side. On the displayed page scroll down to Notifications and press Test messages. If you're using the standard app for that, enable it. If you use another app, you will see a list of possibilities and choose the one you're using for SMS. Regarding email: press email, see if it's on and you will get a list of providers you have (f.i.Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, etc), and choose the one you use. Restart your phone and your Versa and see if the rpoblems are solved.

There is no Fitbit icon on the top right screen. There also is no “test” feature under notifications. No matter what I tried to do my Fitbit versa will not receive email or SMS text messages.
