Fitbit Versa- Today App not updating

ANSWERED

My Fitbit Versa’s built-in Today app has items that are not updating with new information. My steps and heart rate seem to be accurate, but my female cycle tracker, food intake, and sleep log are not updating with new information. They haven’t updated in weeks. I have tried resetting my Fitbit and my phone, unchecking and rechecking all of the options in setting on the Today app, and looked for updates for the Fitbit and app itself. Still no luck. Any ideas?

So I am having a similar issue. Been through all the trouble shooting tips several times. Apparently basic functions work on Bluetooth but others need WiFi. I am having trouble getting a strong enough WiFi signal to keep it connected so I just ordered a WiFi repeater since I am not going down to the basement every time I want to sync my versa. I’m sitting virtually over it and everything else in this room gets a strong WiFi signal but not the versa. I’ll let you know in 2 days when it arrives if that solves my syncing issue. Side note - also found info that it will not WiFi sync if batter is less than 25%.

I expect it is not syncing.  Some fields, such as steps and calories, can stay up-to-date on app just from bluetooth connection to phone.  Others require a full sync, which means communicating with the main fitbit database.

To check last true sync, from phone dashboard main screen, tap the Versa icon near top right.  On next screen near the top it tells last time synced.  If it has not synced lately, that explains why your Today app is not updating.  But then it opens the question of why it is not updating.  But one thing at a time.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I’ve looked at this as well. It seems to be syncing normally without issue through the app. Still no updated info on the versa itself...

So does that mean you did check what is says for the last sync time, and it was recent?

Thank you! You seem to be on to something. After looking into it more, my WiFi seems to have the same issue with its relationship with my versa. It seems as if the connection is not consistent. After lots and lots of troubleshooting, I got it to accept and connect to my network again, and the stats updated! Now we’ll see if that continues to be an issue. My guess is that it will. Please let me know when your repeated arrives and if that helps. Thanks!

I'm in favor of anything that works, but I'm baffled how it would update its last sync date if it didn't have wi-fi connection.

Your guess is as good as mine! I love my versa, but I often have frustrations such as these.

That’s the last time it successfully connected to WiFi. Everything else gets a strong WiFi signal in all but one room so I know it’s not the router. I’m not sure the repeater will help since I stood next to the router and it lost the connection about halfway through syncing. I purposely did it while no one and nothing else was even using WiFi this morning. It took several attempts to set it up when I bought it. I guess that should have been my first clue. But I didn’t think anything of it because my charge2 updates with Bluetooth. I hadn’t read everything yet to see that versa needs WiFi for complete updates/sync.

If you're working, or expect to be soon, don't let me confuse the issue.

I was referring to the OP's phone app showing last sync time.

The Versa does not need wi-fi to sync, but the phone does.  Data goes from Versa to phone via bluetooth, then phone communicates with main fitbit database via wi-fi (or maybe it could via phone data transfer), then back to Versa from phone via bluetooth.

I have tried the trouble shooting options and WiFi options but none of them work. Any other ideas?
