Fitbit Versa and Huawei Mate 20 Lite won't sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had the Versa for Christmas and I have the Huawei mate 20 lite. Set up Versa correctly and sync fine to start. Managed to change face on watch, get some notifications etc but now won't sync or do anything?

I can see it's not on the list of compatible phones but why did it start ok and now not? I would think it just wouldn't do anything at all if not compatible?

Update: deleted the Versa from app and trying to re install and it won't even let me do that. Gutted

Hi, as you already mentioned, it's not yet supported by Fitbit and can cause these problems. Keep a close watch to this site: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2315/?q=compatible&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1 (scroll down to Android Devices and click it) cause it might be that your device will be supported in the near future. However, there might be a possibility that this won't happen, See this:

Which devices are incompatible with the Fitbit app?

Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent certain devices, like Fitbit devices, from syncing, our products aren't compatible with the following phones:

  • Huawei P8 Lite
  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Huawei P20 Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 6

Hope Fitbit will find a solution for this in the near future.

Hi Manty thanks for your reply. It's such a shame that Fitbit has not made them compatible. My phone isn't actually on the list the one you have highlighted I think is a different phone.

I'm gutted as It started working ok and now not.

You're very welcome, but Fitbit has BT problems with a lot of Huawei phones and were/are still not succeeded in solving this. Although the list says Huawei P20 lite, you can assume that the mate P20 is also not supported, otherwise it would be in the list, which is regularly updated.

" Even considering a change in phone lol! ", not a bad idea at all lol! Now seriously, despite all the problems you see posted, the Versa is a very good Smartwatch. It's my fourth Fitbit Device and the only problem I had, was the same as you have now, that the Fitbit's Ionic did not support my mobile device. After one week, it was supported and never had any problems with all four devices.

I'm having the same issue, had nothing but issues for weeks now. I think they're working on it though as some days it does sync the information and other it's not even found. Like you I'm too extremely gutted

I don't understand how it's an issue really. Must be a good reason.

Mine set up fine and I had notifications through and it logs my steps etc on the app but sync nope never works

You'd think with technology today they'd sort it out! The Mate 9 is on the list so surely the mate 20 lite would be. Who knows. Paid all this money and it's basically just an alarm at the minute as nothing else works!!

Is there any way we can complain to Fitbit about this to get it sorted

I'd say that is very much doubtful as I was told and I quote.... "I should have checked compatibility before buying my device" I've had more issues in the past 2 weeks than I ever have in the 4 years I've been using fitbit. I've had nearly every device they have released. Our whole family has one and it still didn't get me anywhere. It's a joke!

Ah I get that but I stupidly assumed that android meant all android phones (my bad) such a shame. I love my Fitbit too

You and me both! I never for 1 second thought it wouldn't be compatible! I hope they fix it soon!

Hi,

I had issues with my versa and mate 20 lite. I found the following steps have worked for me for the last 3 weeks without issue.

1. Unpair your devices and in Bluetooth settings 'forget' your Fitbit device.

2. Delete and reinstall Fitbit app.

3. In settings go to 'apps and notifications' then 'apps'. Find and select the Fitbit app, turn off the 'power Intensive prompt' and under app launch turn off the automatic option and have the three manual options on.

4. Go back to the list of apps and there is a settings option at the bottom. Select this, then 'special access' followed by 'ignore battery optimisation'.

5. Change the allowed drop-down to all apps then find Fitbit and toggle to 'allow'.

6. Pair your watch

7. In the devices part of Fitbit app turn off all day sync and always connected options.

8. Use your watch, sync a couple of times a day when you remember.

Hope it helps.
