Fitbit Versa blacked out and won’t charge

My Fitbit Versa randomly got warm tonight so when I looked at it the screen was flashing black and grey. I took it off and put it on the charger thinking it had died and it still will not turn on or even act as if it is charging. Tried to do a hard reset but with no success multiple times. I placed it back on the charger over a half hour and still nothing.. what do I do now? Is it defective?
