Fitbit Versa doesn’t count steps with stroller

Very disappointed with my new purchase of Fitbit Versa. I’m working at daycare and spend 2-3 hours with stroller per day. It doesn’t count any steps. Plus it recognize automatically wrong excises ( instead of walk it’s bike or treadmill) . It’s sad that I can’t return in store after I opened the box

No, it doesn't. It registers steps via arm swings. Your arm is not swinging while pushing a stroller (or shopping cart). You need a hip-worn pedometer/activity tracker for that. And some stores will take it back open, if you are within the return period.

To my knowledge, Fitbit has never made a wrist-worn tracker that counts steps while pushing a cart or stroller.  However, that doesn't mean that it can't be done.  When I had the Flex 1, I used to push my niece in a shopping cart all the time.  Eventually, I figured out that it counted steps if I put it in my pocket.  You may want to try that, however, you won't get an HR reading during this time.

basically, there's a sensor in the watch that registers motion.  However, very slight motions wont register, as it would count every little thing as a step.

with a stroller, if your watch arm is on the stroller, it's not moving enough.  so steps aren't being counted.  this would be true of ANY step counter (for example if you walked around with arms folded or slowly while carrying a heavy box/something steady, most if not all steps would be missed).  try switching arms so your watch arm can hang or swing free, or exaggerate your motions a bit.

I found this frustrating when I learned it with my first Fitbit.  Since then I put it on my ankle when pushing a cart or stroller.  Works like a charm AND still calculates heart rate.

I had a Garmin Vivofit prior to owning a Fitbit and the Vivofit does count my steps while pushing a stroller or a shopping cart. Plus I love that I don't have to take it off while showering, maybe Fitbit has enhanced their waterproof feature, but I was just checking reviews for the steps with a stroller. Looks like my upgrade will be another Garmin.
