Fitbit Versa - fresh out of box, not charging... i think

Have anyone had a problem with the fitbit versa fresh out of the box? I bought mine a today, and plugged it to the charger about an hour ago.. but nothing is happening. The screen did light up with 0% battery for 2 sec, but now it´s not reacting to anything.

App is installed, I don´t have any bluetooth devices connected, did i get a dead versa or am i just really impatient for the versa to charge.

I´m gonna leave it in the charger for 45 min more (that will be a total of 2 hours) the store closes in 2 hours, I´m gonna go return it for a new one if this is not reacting by the 2 hour charge mark...

And while I´m writing this post it suddenly lights up with the logo... Still won´t connect to my phone (iphone x) Do I just need to give it more time to charge?

First, congrats on the new Versa!

You should be charged by now. Now is when you should start.

Here are the individual steps.

First clear all your previous attempts with weak signal. Hold the fitbit app icon until it wiggles, then touch the X to delete. Reboot your mobile (turn off then back on)

Now use Safari to navigate to fitbit.com/setup so you get the latest App. Follow the set up a new account (or login with your existing registered fitbit email account and the password you established) Follow the add a new tracker dialog. Should go smoothly, the only wrench would be if you opt to "connect to wifi" rather than using the slower bluetooth for updating, if the wifi is compatible, no sweat; but if for some reason it isn't, you may have to start fresh rather than fight all the reasons it may not be. Personally, I use bluetooth because it removes that variable and attempt to add wifi after the update(s). What you are after is to be able to see an active, working watch face and only the first successful sync will get that for you 😉

Be patient, you've got this.

Come back when you get it, or if you run into more hiccups, we're here to help.

Thank you for trying to help.
After the 2 hour charging mark, i just got so fed up and went back to the store. They are now testing it over night. Might be user error 😉 or a defect watch, guess I´ll have to wait and see.

You also may want to make sure that you line up the charging ports correctly. Sometimes I forget that and wonder why it's not charging!

Thank you for the tip! I´ll make sure to do that when charging next time 😃
I got a new Versa to day, and it worked like it should right away! Yey!

I already love it!
