Starting two weeks ago I’ve experienced the following issues with my Fitbit Versa. It is almost 2 years old.
- Screen started randomly and rapidly switching back and forth between the main screen and left screen music controls
- Reset the watch and then changed the clock face to a Fitbit developed one. Did not solve the problem.
- The first issue stopped and then the screen began going in and out and freezing up. I reset it several more times and shut it down. This continued for a few days.
- Screen stopped waking up when rotated. Had to manually tap buttons. Screen still went in and out. Reset again, checked settings, reconnected Bluetooth to my phone
- Next, my Fitbit stopped counting steps correctly and instead showed an excessive amount of active minutes. It also stopped auto recognizing exercise. The battery drains quickly, going from 100% charge to 60% charge in one day.
- This continues off and on for several days with me resetting the watch, shutting it down etc.
- Randomly it started working perfectly again with no issues except the battery.
- Today I am back to the first issue I had two weeks ago where the screen is flipping back and forth.
Is it a hardware issue? Battery? Forced obsolescence? If so, I’m not buying a Fitbit again. Any suggestions other than restarting and shutting down a million times? I’ve tried one factory reset but it didn’t work. Planning to try that again at least.

My Versa 2 started doing this after 2 months. Contacted Customer Service and they are sending me a replacement.
