I have been experiencing heart rates on my Fitbit Versa all day that are very high as if I am doing intense exercise. Heart rate ranges from 130 to 170 or higher even while at rest. I have reset it several times. It will be fine for a few minutes and then the heart rate will start to climb again. I am wearing it the same as I always do, but this is the first time I have experienced this issue. I have contacted customer support and did not get much help other than they will look into the issue. I know my heart rate is not this high because I have taken my pulse rate myself and it is in a normal range even though the Versa says otherwise. I would like to know if others have experienced this and if it has been resolved. This problem makes th Fitbit Versa relatively useless for anything other than a step counter.

@Kittyashes yes, if you search this forum, you will find other users encountered the same problem. Try performing factory reset. I'm afraid this might have to be addressed by Fitbit OS update.

You need to READ some of the other threads here and you will find that you are not alone.

I have read other threads and have seen many have had these and other issues. Customer support suggested I add this to the community board to try to find a solution from other users. This is the only reason for the post. Thanks for your reply.

No problem, @Kittyashes I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues. We're happy to have you here on the forum. 😊 Kitty, I'm not sure if this solves your problem, but a new Fitbit firmware is available. For now you can access it only by performing factory reset of your versa. After reset, versa will download the new firmware (.19) automatically. Perhaps you could try this route? Note, if you decide to wipe your versa, make sure to sync it first as the factory reset will delete all data from your tracker.

I tried that already. After resetting to factory default, I tried to install the new update. It took all night for the Versa to finally update after several failed attempts. It still has the same heart rate problem. I was told they are aware of the problem and are working hard to fix it. I have had the Versa since April and this is the first issue I have really had with it. I am sitting in a relaxed state as I am typing and the current heart rate reading is 140. Normally it would read in the low 70s.
It is frustrating to say the least.

@Kittyashes I'm sorry to hear that. I'm afraid at this point all you can do is wait or press for the replacement. The watch is still under warranty and this is a new development.

My Versa is giving me problems also for the past month or so; elevated heart rates. Actual rate is 76, Versa rate is 122. I reset five times now and it is still broken. Sigh!

I contacted customer support again this morning. The Versa also has started showing a heart rate reading even when it is not being worn. They are sending a replacement because these issues should not be happeneing. I didn't have to request one. Hopefully, I will have better luck with the replacement.
Thanks again for your help.

@Kittyashes "The Versa also has started showing a heart rate reading even when it is not being worn"
Is the green light flashing or off while you get a HR value? Is it a strange HR-number like very low or very high? In all cases that is truly bizarre.

The green and red lights will flash and it will continue to show a heart rate reading on the app and watch when it is not being worn. The readings are not really high or low when it does this. It fluctuates between the 80s and 90s.

@Kittyashesgood you are getting a replacement!!, presumably the HR sensor is broken in some way.

This is the exact issue I'm having and it started 3 days ago.
Had the Versa off for a day or 2, put it back on today, and not even getting a HR reading.

I'm having the same issue - resting heart rate is higher than normal for past 3 days. I'm still on firmware 32.10.15 because no matter what I do, I cannot get the update option to appear - so frustrating.

@Unicornpff Could you please specify what higher than normal means? Perhaps you could share some readings? Also, have you tried factory reset (wiping Versa)? This should force Versa to download the latest (.19) firmware version. Please note, it's not rolled out yet to everyone, so there might be some issues with 3rd party apps integration in particular. Also, wiping Versa erases all data, so please sync before the factory reset.

The newer update won't fix it.

For anyone that has issues with their fitbit, I suggest you contact customer support. Any good company welcomes customer input to help them make a better product. While I am dissapointed in the issues I have had, I did have a good experience with customer support. I just received my replacement Versa yesterday and so far it has been working properly.

Odd. They told me to restart it and then said thanks for the info, we can't do anything else.
